Woo Hoo!!!! Free at last!
I just heard the sound of my SDs suitcase rolling down the Hall!!!
The way holiday visitation worked out this year, we had them for our normal weekend December 11-14. Then we got them back three days later for their holiday week with us Dec 17-25, followed immediately by their normal second weekend Dec 25-27. Then, January 1 it all reset for 2016...so we had them for our first weekend of the month Jan 1-4. Gah!!! I've gotten nothing finished for three weeks! I've had skids for 4 straight weekends and lots of the days in between
They're good kids for the most part and I rolled with it...but I feel like I just took a long break from work and my regularly scheduled life...not to do something fun or enriching for me...but to look after two intruders in my home.
Anyway. They just left for school / their mom's, and I'm so happy I might cry.

Why?!?! Do you have full
Why?!?! Do you have full custody?
We're back to EOWE until Spring Break. I've already begun planting in my DHs head that he really ought to take SS on some college visits during that week. It's not entirely selfish...I do think SS needs some guidance about his next steps in life, and he certainly isn't getting it from his mom, who wants him to stay home forever. He's the sweetest kid with a huge heart...but he's naive and clueless about the world, just like his mom. And he breaks things all the time. It's like he got his dad's heart and kindness but his mom's utter lack of common sense and expectation that everyone pick up after her messes (literally and figuratively).
Anywho. He does need some real guidance about college/career choices...and a partial week off is just a side benefit for me
I'd kill for that one week
I'd kill for that one week off! 19 year old SS never leaves the house. I didn't know what I was getting into when I married him either. BM ran like hell as will I when I finish nursing school and get a job. Wish there was another way but SS rules this house and he knows it.
I haven't seen my skids in
I haven't seen my skids in over 3 weeks and they are not coming back till middle of January that makes it 5 skid free weeks ! woohoo !!!!
