So after SS13 texted BF on Monday night that he would call on Tuesday night to talk there was no phone call of course. So my DH did not try to reach him and around 10pm on Tuesday SS13 texts that he wants his shoe inserts for cross country that he forgot last week and wants DH to drop them off the next day at his school. My DH was angered by this and ignored him completely. I think this ignoring thing worked. Especially because next night BM went to dinner with a friend missing SS11's basketball game and leaving SS13 home alone for almost the whole day and evening because he got out of school early that day. My SS11 played everything very cool I am proud to say he had no problem telling his brother that he had friends over to play and the movies we were watching as a family during the week. So Wednesday around 9pm when we finally got home from the basketball game SS13 called BF. BF told SS13 very calmly that he wanted him home on Thursday and whatever it took he was coming home with us tomorrow. Long story shortend SS13 is home and everything went very well. Believe it or not he even volunteered that he is still reading (the biggest arguments have been that he is not doing any reading at all and that he thinks he can read baby books forever). BF basically got a good kick in the butt I think because he needs to start putting more effort into talking to SS13 and spending time with him. So needless to say I am happy so far so good. We will wait to see how the grades keep going.
