Disappointed, again

Our BS 3 1/2 asked if he could take swimming lessons, so I signed him up, Dh knew this. He was supposed to start yesterday, but it was pushed back to the 7th which is good because SS10 had his Blue & Gold banquet last night. Dh sent me last week this big list of the skids upcoming activities & his oncall schedule & some Dr's appointments. When adding them to my calendar I noticed that SS10 has conferences the same time & day as BS's first lesson. BS will be alone in the water ( no parents) something he has never done, only an instructer & the other kids.

DH's solution, bring SS13 with. I know in the scheme of things that conferences are more important ( although SS10 is an A student so most everything is positive, he does have some staying on task issues ) but BS's activity was scheduled first.

This isn't something I would blame BM for either as Dh always tells her to just schedule & he will be there. It just sucks that because you are the second family & with the skids being so much older & starting to have very active lives ( all good stuff, 1 sport each & then Boyscouts, Civil air patrol & award type events & school stuff) that BS is the last on DH's list.

I will probably bring SS13 with & BS will love having his brother there to watch him, but it is still disappointing & I was already in a blah state with work & lack of sleep.

Krisnkids,

I think you will find CAP to be a very exciting activity for your son. SS13 is uber excited as is DH & BM. Funny thingis BM was very apprehensive when DH & SS started talking about this & now is insisting that DH take SS10 to the science fair tonight & she will be taking SS13 to CAP. I think having kids involved in things like this & scouting are such great character building experiences.

They automatically get 10 hours of fly time SS13 was telling me. He is pumped. My aunt who is a retired airforce LT COl told him the other night at dinner that she thinks she has a flight suit that will fit him. He was so excited about that. He is an amazing kid, 4.0, polite, helpful. He even tells me he loves me every night at bed time & when he l;eaves after visitation. There are days I enjoy him more than BS 3 1/2 ( who is entering a real stubborn phase).
