Another Vacation

I am going away for Labor day weekend with my girlfriend and her 2 boys. This will be the first trip since our disastorous disney cruise last month. However my gf's parents are going so should not be to bad. My gf has however, been on top of the boys and has not been taking any crap from either one and best part of it all is... I haven't had to be the big bad step dad and correct them she has handle it all as it should be. I have learned how to keep my mouth shut and just walk away.... because of this fact things are alot better for me and we have been getting along alot better. I think the bad cruise vacation experience has made her see how bad her children are and she realizes she must start to do something to correct their behavior. Wish me luck!!!

As having recently endured an awful Summer visit with sd21....I can understand your concerns for this next one....good luck !!!

At the moment my DH is still recovering from seeing that his little girl, has not changed, in any of her ways, same old, same old.....

I had tried to tell him I had serious concerns about her visiting, and everything I was worried about, well happened.....I didn't gloat, just stayed silent and let him deal with it..... Doing that really seemed to clear the rose tinted spectacles ( until the next major event ) and now he seems to be "realising" what has been going on for years......

Thanks....My girlfriends parents are going with us so it shouldn't be that bad they'll be a buffer....they pretty much went away all the time with her and the boys when she was married which speaks volumes about her marriage or lack there of....her and her x husband never went on a vacation with just the 4 of them pretty sad. Sometimes I seem to forget how much she was left alone by him and how even after they had kids he still was always some where else. Back to my point just like your DH she is seeing the error of her ways and her boys behavior needs to improve. I hope to god by the time their 21 it has improved.
