Tone Up Tuesday
I was really tired before my Nia class this week. I'm just not sleeping. Sometimes, it's DD2 waking up in the night upset, so I have to go see if she's ok.
But most of the time, I just wake up *myself* at weird times in the night for no reason, then just lay there for hours, awake and frustrated. It's been like this for about a year I think, so it's not a new thing.. But still. Ugh.
Anyway, so I was VERY tired before my class. DH said "Why don't you miss out on the class this week, just rest, I'm worried about you being so tired"
I MUST ADMIT I was tempted not to go. Especially after DH said that, it was almost like someone was "permitting me" not to go.
But I replied that I'd be disappointed in myself if I didn't go, and besides, I'm tired every single day anyway, so it didn't make any difference :/
My *next* thought was something that really stuck in my head. I thought it might help someone else.. So.. Ok here it is.
If I had an appointment at the doctor or whatever, I would *have* to go. I am regarding my fitness classes in the same way. It's an appointment that I *must* attend.
That change of mindset, between "this is a fun excercise class that I MIGHT attend if I feel like it"
And..
"This is an appointment I HAVE to attend"
It makes all the difference. Going forward, I will always make sure that I regard my fitness class as an important appointment I've made with myself.
Almost like a doctors appointment, it's an appointment I've made FOR MY OWN HEALTH. It's important. It's necessary.
And.. It's also REALLY fun once you get there, no matter how tired you are! Lol
I was so tired. I slept about 2hours the night before. But I went to my class. It was so fun. I love it
I really hope everyone is doing good this week!

That is really good advice.
That is really good advice. If you can get passed your DH tempting you with a "skip-a-day" free card then you're really dedicated. I would have probably passed, myself.
And how cold is your DD2's room? I read somewhere babies get night terrors when they're in colder rooms to sleep. It might not be true but it can't hurt to try. I keep BS1's room on the warmer side and he's slept through the night since I moved him in there versus my freezing cold bedroom.
You know, it's so strange.
You know, it's so strange. For some reason, the kids room (SS6 shares when he's here for weekends) is always the warmest in the house. I have no idea why, but it's always really warm in there compared to everywhere else!
I have no idea what DD's problem is. Sometimes she literally just SCREAMS then nothing?!!! Almost like she's still asleep. But obviously I go RUN in there to check on her to find that she's asleep, whaaa?!! Lol
Thanks for waking me up and getting my heart rate racing DD, I now have several hours of lying awake while you sleep peacefully, gah.
sunny..... you are being
sunny.....
you are being tired cause it's that peak before you gain benefits from training...
regarding DD not sleeping, only one way to resolve that.... give her some booze to knock her out, take a swig from the bottle yourself and have a wonderful sleepy night }:) }:)
Good for you! Ask your DH not
Good for you! Ask your DH not to temp you with not going or with fattening foods and things like that. He is trying to be nice, but in doing so, he's not being supportive.
Thanks guys I'm proud of
Thanks guys I'm proud of myself for going!
Acratopotes, you're naughty lol

Gimlet, good job exercising, it's lovely that you enjoy the outdoors, me? Not so much LOL! I *used* to love it.
DH and I went through a phase (about 6months) of camping out every single weekend before I fell pregnant.
Then, that was it. I wanted all the comforts of home, and that tent has been in the closet for like 4years lol

Fake mommy, I know from the brief example in this post it sounds like DH isn't being supportive, but he truly is great when I'm being serious about weight loss.
He *loves* chips. Like really loves them. I can live without em, but if they're in the kitchen and I'm busy, I may grab a pack of his chips to snack on instead of chopping up fruit :/
On my last serious effort diet, he didn't buy a single pack of chips for the house the whole 6months. He only got them when he was at work, but never brought any into the house. I never asked him to do that. He just did it. He is awesome. Lol ;)
When he said that to me this week, ("don't go as you're tired") this was after a whole week of hearing me freaking out about going to class again, (anxiety, what can I say. See my last blog lol!)
And repeatedly replying to my freak outs very gently but firmly: "You're going. No excuses. You loved it last week, it will be fun this week too"
That particular day. He was worried about me as he could literally see in my face that I was dead from no sleep Add to that my general health lately, I kinda got his concerns.
Anyway, maybe if I say that I'm gona try a serious effort stretch again, he will turn back to our old habits. I really haven't been *super* strict with myself with regards to eating, so maybe he hasn't realised that he should be doing the whole 'no chips in the kitchen' thing again lol!
He can be supportive without me even asking, but I will talk to him about what you said and I'm sure he'll support me better in that way. He truly was just worried about my tiredness and health is all.

TTBSM, you *get up* at 345am?!! Woah. Ok woah. When I wake up then (it's weird, I wake throughout the night at weird times, but usually also around 330/4am every day) I just get frustrated and lie there reading.
There's no way I could imagine getting out of bed and exercising. I am so impressed. *You* keep up the good work too!!! You are doing so great, congrats on the weight loss!

Moving On, once upon a time I would excercise every day. I don't remember having sleeping problems at that time. Hmm. Ok.
Something to think about. Thankyou for making me think back on that time.
*brain working out how to fit in exercise time every day without getting up at 3am like TTBSM* lol
