Should I speak up if all of these things bother me?

stressgirl79's picture

Quick background: DF recently lost his vision and is no longer able to work. I just graduated college so even though I work full time, I make crap money. Because of all this, we are losing our house because the gobs of money he used to make are no longer there and he doesn't start getting disability payments until February.

Seriously...

The stomach flu has been making its way through here, which isn't going to be fun anyway. I was whining on here the other day about DH putting SD10 in our bed and letting her puke in a bucket on my side of the bed because wtf ew. BS5 had it yesterday and is totally fine today but we are keeping him home from school just in case he's still contagious, don't wanna be that parent.

sick of the sicks

Every time one of my bios gets sick, it's "take two of these and get on the bus." But let one of the skids start sniffling and DH is in a blind panic. Nice, right? But my favorite part is the babying they get - it's disgusting.

I worked all day today, on my feet, retail. All I wanted to do when I got home was curl up on my couch and read my book. What sk I come home to? DH telling me that SD10 has been throwing up all day, so he thought it would be best for her to sleep in our bed. :O

Just sick of it and I want to vent for a minute

FSD8 is making me insane. She is a princess of the highest order and I am about to flip my sh*t if I can't talk about this somewhere, to someone.

She makes messes, everywhere.

She leaves her stuff all over the house.

Every time she is asked to do her chores she conveniently gets a headache or sprains her ankle or just plain doesn't feel good.

Why do I have to deal with BM's cat?

stressgirl79's picture

So when I moved in with FDH and SS and SD there were two cats and a dog. I HATE cats and never had a dog before. The dog barks constantly but since we bought him a bark collar, I can deal with that. One of the cats used to piss and shit everywhere and then went outside and got hit by a car. Call me a terrible person, but I wasn't a bit sad. Now the other cat has picked up where the first cat left off and my house smells like cat piss and I am constantly checking the corners for "presents." Have I mentioned that I HATE CATS?

Maybe I am just a bad person.

It has gotten to the point that I can't even make eye contact with the skids, they just seem to irk me that much. They really aren't any more annoying than anyone else's kids, my own included, but I am constantly wishing they would GO AWAY. They always seem to want to hang out with the adults, and maybe this is where the problem lies.

BM's daily "crises" are more important than my needs?

stressgirl79's picture

So FDH and I had an extremely rare weekend where we only had BS3. BS9 and BS7 were with their dad, SS10 and SD8 were with their mom. It just so happened that in the week leading up to this, all three of our stupid beater cars broke down. All of them. We had been talking about buying a new car for a while, and made plans to go out Saturday and spend the day test driving and such. We figured that since we would only have one kid to deal with, it would be a perfect day for it.

EVERYTHING does not require discussion

So. Every time my bios get in a fight, DH has no problem whatsoever telling them to knock it off and taking away whatever they were fighting over. The end. But if it's HIS kids, he thinks it's a much better idea to sit them down for like half an hour and discuss what led up to the fight, what feelings are involved, why the fight happened, what can be done to avoid the situation next time, ad nauseum.
