SDs and StickAFork...

(I have two SDs...SD19 from DH, SD22 from XH. I don't like SD19, love SD22 like my own.)

So, awhile back I had suggested that DH and I send SD19 a "congrats on the baby" card. I thought it was the polite thing to do.

Nothing has come of it until somewhat recently.

DH and SD have been FB'ing and he asked her to friend him. She said she would, but hasn't actually done it yet and it's been over a week. (Go figure.) Agreeing to friend him, of course, was contingent on her telling him that he isn't "allowed" to comment on anything she posts, so take it how you will.

We're out driving and DH mentions, out of the blue, that he thinks we should send SD a congrats card and it was a "great" idea. (How nice of me, right?) Then he adds... can anyone guess it??? We should include $$$.
Like I didn't see THAT coming. Biggrin
Then, as a bit of a surprise, he suggests we get her a gift card to Babies R Us so that we *know* the money is being spent on baby stuff, as opposed to a Walmart or Target card or something. Hmm, well, at least he's aware she's a materialistic little snot.

Sigh... so, that's going in the mail this week. (I'm waiting to see if she finally adds him after getting it...should be interesting!)

On another note, my SD22 seems to be finally getting her shit together. Yay!! She lives on her own and works, but it's a crap job for no money. I put her through the first year of school, and I think she failed damn near every class. GRrrrr.... well, now she's back in school, by HER choice, and got all A's this quarter!!! SO PROUD. She's even decided to follow my main degree path, so she calls frequently for help with her homework and studying for tests. Gotta love Skype!

I've decided for SD22's Christmas gift, I am going to fly her out to Vegas to meet up with us in February (we will be out there AGAIN for cheerleading!!) and we'll make an extended weekend out of it... 4-5 days. She is SO excited and so are my bios. I didn't want to say anything just yet, but I needed to be sure she could get off of work and school. Holy cow!! These "kids" of "mine" are bouncing off the walls with excitement!! Warms my heart. I just wanted to share that because I worked really hard for many years to "blend" them as siblings. It sucked, A LOT sometimes, but now... I can honestly say it was totally worth it.

LOL!!
DH wanted to be "friended" because she's posting lots of pics of her ultrasounds and updating about her pregnancy. I think he wants to feel connected. (And this is his bio. I have NO desire to friend her!! LOL. But, I do have SD22 and my bios friended. SD because we're friends IRL, and my bios so I can snoop. Biggrin )

I should have stated... I don't gamble. Vegas would be all about the sights and fun stuff. I think I've played the quarter slots twice in my life. Wink

All-star cheerleading... it's a big thing in some areas. Hard work, super expensive, elite sport stuff. It's not pom pom stuff, though. It's stunting, tumbling, and dancing.
It may kill me. I am SO NOT the "cheerleader type."
