who extended the school year - lol
Just when I was happily thinking today was the last day of school and I wouldn't have to drive with ss in car anymore, bs informs me that it's next tues that school gets out. I tried to convince dh to take boys in this morning but he chose not to. I am so tired of this kid being the golden child and getting away with everything. Last night he finished up the pot of (probably about another meals worth) of stew I worked hard to make yesterday and ate the 10 muffins leftover. I was planning on a leftover night later this week. And I knew all this b/c he leaves all his dishes all over the counters. Bs15 always rinses and never eats everything like that without asking first. I should have wrote on it like DH keeps telling me to do, but I get tired of always policing this kid.

Aren't there buses where you
Aren't there buses where you live? Next school year, you really need to get everyone more independent. They're old enough. And 10 muffins + stew? Question everything!
Last week was the last day of school for us. What a coincidence that my skid threw the biggest meltdown so far just in time for summer vacation. All my fears of having a repeat of Summer2012 just came rushing back. We tried everything, most people would not have done to try to keep peace around here in spite skid & BMs horrid behavior. And we're BACK to square one...again. We packed up SS things, sent him on a trip to Grandmas until we can figure out what to do. Change therapist, drop some of the legal stuff, etc.
Summer USED to be my favorite season. Not anymore.
Shook, a month ago we moved
Shook, a month ago we moved out of the school district we were in, 20 miles to another town. We wanted the boys to complete the year in their schools. BS15 is going to the local high school next year and ss16 is thinking about it only b/c the football team is good. lol And DH has told ss16 that if he wants to go to the same school with friends he's gone to school with since preschool he is going to have to buckle down and get his license. So far ss16 is actually 16 1/2 and has not even studied for the driving permit, but I am changing clients so this fall I will be driving in the opposite direction thus not being able to take him in if he decides to sluff off all summer and not get his license and a job. Bs15 failed both semesters of English so he's going to take online credit recovery this summer. In our state he is not old enough to drive or work yet so he gets another year break.
I am so sorry that your summers are not good anymore. I used to enjoy summers too but while raising my disabled daughter it got to where I loved Sept the most!! I loved that first month of sending the kids to school and then going out into my garden, looking up at the clear blue sky, listening to the birds and the breeze in the fall leaves. That was when I was a full time sahm! I miss those days b/c really I did spend every sunny day at the beach where my daughter behaved the best! My online user name was dazzlinbeachmum
How old is your ss and how many more unsavory summer melt downs do you have to look forward to? Shipping him off to grandma's sounds divine! Yes, you will have to figure out something. How about letting her have full custody!! }:)
Sterling, better get
Sterling, better get "dazzlinbeachmum" to re-emerge girl!
Ok I understand, that is tough. But after this year's over, better explain they'll have to find other transport, e.g. bus for local schools & a hitchhiker's big thumb for the kid that wants to stay in same school. There's no way you can keep this going hon.
He's 16. Yeah DH's mom thinks she can do a better job, well here's your chance lady. Go for it. We're expecting a big blowup by next month. I pray thought that she can handle it though. Maybe she'll believe his poor baby complex. Let us pray.
wow yea Former, that's about
wow yea Former, that's about it, we have ss16 every day too. Bu with school at least we get some breaks, tho I work days mostly so when I get home kids get home. Joy - NOOOTTTT.
Now we're living in a modular home and the walls are paper this and so sex has become a thing of the past too. I refuse to have sex when I can hear the kids breathing in their rooms, don't want them to hear the "breathing" that goes along with ya know what. :O
