So today is ss's 16th birthday. I am counting the days till he graduates and goes into the Military! Two years and 5 months! I bought him an icecream cake today and a small gift. DH took him to the gun range and then they're coming home to make pizza and we'll celebrate!

I have to admit to being happy that I have done 4 of the 6 1/2 years till he's out. It's not been easy and I am sure it won't get any easier but at least there is a light at the end of this tunnel. I am trying to hard to be nice lately b/c DH with his cancer needs for our home to be stress free. This morning something happened and I almost launched into one of my tirades but I resisted and just quietly went up and took a shower and stayed in my room for awhile until calming down. It would have been over ss has been leaving dishes in the rec room and now the stack is high and I have asked several times this week to have it cleaned up and he's just not listening. I will continue to leave it and I actually hung a curtain across the door. My passive way of disengaging!
