Apparently it's OK for BM to eat our food now?

Darling SD8 just came in to get her stuff that goes to her mom's house each week with her, as she does each Monday after school when she's going there. She was happy and sweet and gave hugs, and then, total weirdness.
SD: "Can I have that Lunchable from the fridge?"
FDH: "Sure, go grab it."
As she heads to the kitchen, she calls back, "My mom wants it."
FDH: "Your mom wants it-- to eat?"
SD: "Yeah"
FDH & I stare at each other in disbelief. I start to giggle and answer his confused look with "I don't know!" He whispers "But what the f***?"
He shouts to SD "She wants to eat MY Lunchable?"
SD says, coming back, "It's MY Lunchable."
FDH: "No, it's mine." Then, making a joke out of it so SD doesn't think he hates BM as much as he does: "But we wouldn't want your mom to starve to death, so she can have it."
SD laughs and hugs again, then she's out the door.
I ask FDH "But why would she even want to eat it?" It's not like she could think SD bought it or anything, we obviously buy food in the house. He shrugs and says he has no clue, but that is never happening again. Smile Then he says BM is overstepping herself. Hope this is not a sign of things to come this summer, wow! But I guess if that's as bad as it gets, that's OK.

Makes you wonder how it all comes about doesn't it. We've had several weird happenings like that at our house. I've often wanted to be a fly on the wall to hear how that conversation goes with BM and SD.

BM has actually stood in my kitchen doorway and said, "oh SD why dont' you take a brownie home with you for me"

Not much to do but shake your head.

Lol.

Right I wonder how it all came about. I doubt BM said " I am hungry what does your dad have to eat?" "oh I will take the lunchable"

Nah. It had to of come up differently, I don't know how but it had to of gotten twisted.

Right! I just have no idea how, I'm sure sd must have mentioned it first, I just wonder how it got to the bm eating it part. LOL ah well I'm sure it was awkward for BM too.

I do have to say though that I have had to persuade my daugher to not bring me food from her dad's. She just hasn't caught on to the boundries yet.

:jawdrop: - I guess if this woman is THAT hungry that she needs to ask for a lunchable... then I would go ahead and give it to her.

I once went out to dinner with my ex, and when we got back, he actually asked if he could eat my leftovers. I was like :jawdrop: - I only thought that if he was hungry enough to ask his EX-WIFE if he could eat her leftovers - then he could have them.

So I wouldn't sweat it.

Hehe Snowflake, that is what FDH said a little later: "She must have been REALLY hungry." -- I know I would have to be to ask for food from an ex!

LOL you ladies make me laugh. AStepAbove, I know -- I'm sure SD just doesn't quite have the concept of "our" things yet, I know she thinks food just appears in fridges Smile At least I don't have to worry about BM helping herself to anything I make -- FDH won't allow her to come through the door, she waits on the porch... HAHA! This is hilarious! I'm trying to picture the conversation that happened prior to this, between SD and BM...I can't even imagine.

Exactly why I don't eat anything BM sends to our house. She has a habit of baking us cookies and such. Always DH's favorites ! gag me !

I once my zucchini bread with squash from our garden. BM asked if she could take some zucchini and since we had tons of it we let her. Then we had to hear from SD how BM mad the best zucchini bread. On and On and On and On about it. I told DH to never give her anything again. lol

OMG that's very irritating! Definitely would be the new rule that she does not get anything. I think in our case it already was a rule, SD just didn't know it! Never again though... way too weird, lol
