Off topic. Any at home remedies for back pain?
I have had upper back pain for a month and the last couple days it's gotten to the point where I can't sleep. I have tried ointments, heat, cold and nothing is working. I'm about to lose my mind.

Where on your back? In one
Where on your back? In one spot? Down your spine? I would get it checked out because women have weird heart attack symptoms. I am not trying to scare you but better to be save than sorry especially if nothing makes the pain go away. Also it would be pleurisy.

First it was in my left shoulder blade now it's towards middle of my shoulder blades going up my neck.
have you had upper
have you had upper respiratory issues lately? lung congestion (bronchitis) or even a persistent cough can be the internal driver of this musculoskeletal mischief. Focus on some deeper belly breathing - inhale and your belly button pushes out, exhale and it softens - til you get the "sigh sign" and this starts to reorganize your stress drive, lungs, and upper back spasms. Pain is an output signal of your brain thinking that you are in danger - real or imagined. Reassuring your brain from the body breathing up helps to calm down those panic output signals…

My mother thought she had a back injury. It turned out to be pleurisy which is an infection of the lining of your lungs. I would get it checked out by a Dr if arjuna's ideas don't work.

Feel better! Get to the Dr!
Feel better! Get to the Dr! If you cant go soon, practice good deep breathing for your muscles, view stretches on youtube, if you sleep in a bed, try something else, the recliner, the couch, the floor even. Try a pillow between the knees, watch what you eat and drink too, keep a food journal, in case it is GERD. Drink water instead of sodas and coffees, a hot shower or soak in tub, alternate the hot and cold. If none of those things work, try an orgasm! Seriously! May loosen you up a bit or at least take your mind off it for a minute or two! Get well soon!
Biofreeze. My chiropractor
Biofreeze. My chiropractor carries it, but it's on Amazon as well. It helped my sciatica. Are you stressed out? I heard that women carry stress in our backs and shoulders. I haven't had sciatica since I worked in a dysfunctional corporate environment. Biofreeze was my friend (along with Mr. Rolling Rock and Mrs. Chardonnay).

One thing might help is get a tennis ball, lay on the floor with the ball where the pain originally started, give a it a 15 count, then roll on the ball up and down the spine for 20, repeat until relieved. It will feel like a knife going thru at first, then the pain will ease if you've hit the right pressure point. Then put Biofreeze on it.
I would definitely get
I would definitely get yourself a new bra, so many times my back pain is a result of me not changing bra sizes when needed. Look up on line how to fit yourself properly and then go to an independent store where they stock a good range of sizes and try on as many as you can until you find the right fit. Get the lady there to fit you but don't necessarily trust her judgement...lots of them don't know how to fit a bra properly.
And add to that some back stretches...try yoga or pilates. Yes you probably should go to a chiropractor/physiotherapist if the pain persists or you find you can't live with it but i would try some stretches at home first.
