Why should I spend time with her if he won't?

I dropped Mr. Kate off at work.

...later he ended up walking home and he is ticked, understandably. I tell him I'm sorry (that he had to walk after working a full day, not necessarily because I did anything wrong) and ask him if there is anything I can do. He mumbles what I thought was 'I want to spend time with my daughter, so can you find something (for you) to do'. I decide his attitude is forgiveable and make plans to see a movie with a friend. When I tell him I might spend the night with my (female) friend, he says I'm an *$$hole because what he'd actually asked me was if I could spend time with his daughter, and take her out somewhere.

I haven't really decided how I feel about all of this yet. Just thought I'd share.

If he doesn't want to spend time with his own kid why should you? Is he expecting you to be his babysitter?
