Irks me! It shouldn't. But it does.
Dd12 is going to a concert tonight with her friend and the mom. I arrive at school to pick up all the kids and inform dd that she's going to her friend's house and give her an overnight bag. When we get in the car, ss13 is extrely concerned about dd - "do we have to go get her? ... What? she's not coming home? What's she doing?"
I let him and my two boys know that dd was doing girl stuff with her BFF.
Ss then asks if HE can invite his friend over for a special night. Dh says no. I say "if you get invited somewhere, we can certainly talk about it".
Then the conversation moves on to my two boys and how they spent their weekend. They went somewhere special with their uncle. Ss tries to minimize it by saying" oh that old thing... I saw that a long time ago". The funny thing is that ss has been there once on a class field trip and my boys have been there several times since their uncle works there.
It bothers me. But I know he just wants attention and equality. He has a hard time with friends and isn't invited anywhere and his mom sux.
Irks me but I have to remember that I should really feel bad for him.

Yes... it sounds like jealousy on his part, which I think would be natural. It sounds like your bios get to do a lot of fun stuff and he doesn't. And at this age... I dont think it makes it any better.
Unfortunately it's one of those things, it is what it is. Life isn't fair. It's not your bios should stop doing stuff.
Could DH do more stuff with him? Just so he doesn't feel "left out". Him feeling "left out" could lead to resentment and anger issues.

I feel very bad that his mom doesn't do anything special for him. But it still irritates me to listen to him.
