Great FD weekend :)

Hey there!

So Saturday, was full of errands and DH started on staining his grandpa's deck. I slept in Smile

Sunday, he got up early again and went to grandpa's to finish sealing the deck. His dad lives right next door and came over to tell him that "J" (the crazy psycho ex that has been stalking him and his fiancee "L") called to tell him happy father's day. WOW, right? LMAO. Then she called grandpa to do the same...yeah she's a fruit loop.

I touched up my blonde color while he was gone and packed us a picnic lunch. We took off for the mountains but it was raining where he originally wanted to fish. So we took a drive and found nicer weather in Evergreen. Evergreen lake is gorgeous and we found a decent area and he put two poles in. I settled into my camping chair with a Cosmo magazine and we sat there for 3 hours enjoying the weather. He never got a bite and I got a sunburned knee, but we had a good time. Went to Hooters afterwards for a beer and some hot wings, since his were free. It sucked, but the manager did buy our beers for the poor quality food we got. No Hooters is like Hawaii's Hooters!

MY DD15 called DH just as he was leaving his grandpa's to tell him she loved him and Happy Father's Day. Made his day! Being as how his OWN daughter who lives 5 miles up the road didn't bother to call or text. He didn't expect her to but after they've been having little text chat sessions the past week, I figured MAYBE she might come around but nope, nothing. DH was very happy and said it made his day that my daughter thought of him that way and called to tell him so.

Anyhow - great weekend and now back to the grind.

Now on to read some of your Father's Day horror stories...I truly consider myself very lucky indeed!

Thanks Identity! We really did. This coming weekend is our last "alone" weekend before DD15 gets here for the summer. I think we'll go away this weekend if money allows. Just camp or something so we have our time together.

DD15 isn't a problem, but yeah, our level of privacy goes WAY down when she's here Wink LOL

I'm happy you had a nice weekend Smile

I know that ideally, she shouldn't think this, but I think his dd feels that if he demoted her, she can demote him. It's understandable that she's hurting. But I hope someday, she'll learn better ways to deal with it. I'm sure she does "know better." I'll give you that. But this kid has been so screwed up that it'll take many years to fix. She won't see things through a clearer, adult lens until she's had some life experience to help her put it in a better perspective. I'm glad they're chatting-that's a start. Maybe she's just not ready to go any further yet. I hope that'll change.

I just hope that when she's ready, she'll reach out to dh and things will improve between them and I really do hope she turns out to be a productive member of society.

Yeah, I know you and I have had this conversation before and as far as I'm concerned, I just feel like she's happy where she is and that's fine by me.

As far as the chit-chat is going, it raises my guard up because of how badly she's hurt DH in the recent past. He says he's just going to let her control the conversations, it's just over text and he always ends the chats on HIS terms, so I'm letting it be.

He let me view the texts and it's really just small talk. How her DC trip went, her pet lizards and their care, our chinchillas (I wish he hadn't told her about them but I have no control over that) and then he always ends the text with "I love and miss you".

Of course, she didn't text or call on Father's Day but I knew she wouldn't. His birthday is next month - I doubt he'll hear from her then either. My DD comes into town next Tuesday so we'll be sure to do something special for DH's birthday and hopefully keep his mind off his kid.

You know...I can't think of Hawaii now and the praise you have for the Hooters over there. I am going to have a hard time containing myself too.

"I hear they have good Hooters in Hawaii".

Yeah. I am NEVER going to be able to explain that one!

Sorry Drac0 - didn't mean to get you all in a hooters tizzy today! LOL I miss my girls over there. Did I ever show you any of their pics?

LOL! No I didn't see any pictures but that's okay. My imagination works well enough for me! Smile

Awesome, glad ya'll had a good weekend. Ours wasn't too bad. DH was pretty sad yesterday, but we got thru it, we found a few things to laugh and smile about, all in all not as bad as I thought it would be.

Clydella - it was soooo nice. I'm glad your DH was able to get through it ok. I know my DH was HOPING to hear from stepdevil14, but I was sooooo glad MY daughter stepped up and called him. He said it made his day Blum 3
