A Tale of Twuntzilla
So, Twuntzilla is living deep in the land of delusions. She's got skid1 there with her too, and reality is going to smack him hard in the face soon.
A little background: Skid1 just turned 14. In our state, kids can get their learner's driving permits at 14. In order to do so, they need to take a written test at the DOT. With the permit, they can drive with a licensed driver over 18 in the car. If they keep their permits for 6 months with no issues, and take a Driver's Ed class, they can get a school permit, which allows them to drive to/from school without an adult in the car.
DH was at work yesterday and got a call from skid1. He and Twuntzilla were on their way to the DOT so he could take the test but she had no money to pay the fee. Dh said "Sorry buddy, I'm at work so I can't help you out right now."
Cue meltdown from skid. DH told him that he was getting off of work soon, and had to stop at the grocery store, so if they really needed the money for the fee they could meet him there and he'd take care of it.
He gets to the store. No skid/Twuntzilla. Calls skid's cell phone. No answer. Calls Twuntzilla. No answer. He waits for a bit and then came home, since skid2 had been home sick from school and DH wanted to check on him. Of course, skid1 calls again, wanting DH to drive all the way out to the DOT to meet them there and pay for the test. DH said no, he had other obligations and couldn't. Meltdown from skid again.
WTF is wrong with this woman? If she really couldn't afford the fee, why couldn't she have arranged in advance to meet with DH? Why does she expect him to drop everything to cover her broke ass? Why set out for the DOT KNOWING she didn't have any money? Oh, I know, because she sucks.
And the whopping fee? $6. Six. Effing. Dollars. For real?
Apparently she ran into someone she knew there and they spotted her the money. No shame, I tell ya.
And here's where the delusions come into play: she has skid convinced that she is going to buy him a car in 6 months, and that the insurance she already has for her car will cover a teenaged driver with only a permit - NOT a license - in another car!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! She's so fucking dumb. Insurance is going to cost $100/mo easily. The cars she's been looking at for him are $2000 easily. If she thinks DH is going to run to her rescue to cover the purchase of a car, and insurance, she's going to be sorely disappointed.
DH is livid that she's setting skid up like this. He will not pay for a car or insurance unless skid gets a job and contributes half. Sorry buddy, cars are a responsibility and privilege, not a right, and until he can contribute his ass will be riding the bus. As we both did as teenagers.
DH tried to point the delusions out to skid - she can't afford $6 but thinks she's going to buy you a car? For real? - but he's pretty deep into lala land and it fell on deaf ears. Skid1 thinks he's the bees knees, and should be handed everything. And why shouldn't he? Whatever he wants, he gets (usually from MIL), and he sees no reason why things should be different now. But Dad's wallet is closed on this one, and he'll realize it soon enough.

Skid is more than old enough
Skid is more than old enough to see the real BM; hope he does it soon enough.
He's shown glimmers of seeing
He's shown glimmers of seeing her true colors, but she is the mommy and he wants to believe the best of her. You'd think that the fact that she got skids NOTHING for Christmas (but bought gifts for other people) and did NOTHING for skid1 for his birthday - not even a $6 test fee - would open his eyes.
Your BM is a moron with no
Your BM is a moron with no shame... SIX dollars? What a dildo
Your state is wacked! The thought of a 14 year old driving a car on public roads scares the living daylights out of me! Hell the thought of 16 year olds in my state scares the living daylights out of me! But 14???? Hell to the fuck no!
Right? I live in a heavy
Right? I live in a heavy agriculture state, which is why kids can drive so young - many of them are operating farm equipment and vehicles at very young ages. We, however, live in a CITY. It's crazy scary. That's why I'm pushing for skid1 to have to contribute to the purchase of a vehicle - maybe, just maybe, he'll take pride in it and drive carefully.
I don't have high hopes though - he refuses to admit mistakes and thinks he's a good driver already because he's done some circles in a parking lot. If he thinks he's EVER getting behind the wheel of my car he's got another thing coming.
Gotta love the way they
Gotta love the way they already have it spent before they even get it! One of my favorite pins that totally applies to BM1 and BM2 (and probably 98% of ALL BMs): "Congratulations on your huge tax return after sitting on your ass all year! Now you can pretend like you're not white trash for 2 weeks."
