Step parenting blows. Gave the skids their gifts tonight - not many but VERY costly gifts. Skid1 got an Xbox1, skid2 an aquarium for his room and a video game. DH got lots of thanks and love. I got nada. Not a hello when they got here, not a thank you, not a Merry Christmas. I'm so over them. Merry effing Christmas.
God, I miss my family right now. Next year, I'll be gone for the holidays.

Ha! We actually have a pirhana in another aquarium in the house lol! And oh yes, I want to Channing all over his Tatum!

Sorry to hear that queen. I know it's not about the presents but I got up this morning hoping maybe my wife and skids put something under the tree last night. NOPE. Nothing. All while there is over 10 presents for each of them. Expensive hand made engraved things for my wife and lots of other things for her boys. Im so done. Im starting to regret working this relationship out wiith her a couple months ago. I've been made fun of by her last week in front of my parents for being sentimental and hsve been treated like shit by her two lazy theiving lying manipulative boys. Im done. Shes going to find out today what total disengagement means. That's my gift to her snd theses ubgreatful boys.

I have also experienced this and how I handled it was when the skids thanked just dad I said "actually I bought everything and wrapped everything." Then they thanked me. Sometimes you gotta take matters into your own hands

Same thing happens to me .. Dh tells the skids that I went out and hunted all this stuff down and got it for them and they say oh or just look at me ..
