Last night, I took a brief break from studying for finals to chat with FDH. We are both sarcastic jokers, and during the course of the conversation I made a few jokes about BM and FSIL (cut from the same cloth, and buddy buddy to boot!).

FDH responded with, "What is this, crum on my family day?"

Yep, idiot, BM is your family. Because that whole divorce and restraining order thing meant nothing.

He apologized and insisted that he didn't mean it like that, that he was only referring to his sister. I call BS - we BOTH crack on his sister quite often and it's never an issue. Only getting the mother of the children involved made it "his family." Gag.

He doesn't understand why I'm upset, why my feeling were hurt - because we haven't had one million conversations about how hard it is to be a childless-not-by-choice person in a step dynamic. Riiiiiiiight.

For a smart man, he can sure be an idiot sometimes.
