I talked with a behaviorist specialist for a whole year, she came into my home every other week to help me with my daughter, and her philosophy was to reward good behavior and ignore poor behavior b/c all kids are trying to get is attention. So give attention to good and not bad. She said parents automatically react to bad behavior. Well it's easier said then done. It did work for my boys though! But my daughter had too many disabilities for it to work fully though it worked to a certain extent.

Oh I was going to say, my xh was on board for this for awhile but finally gave up and became an alcoholic so being on my own with this parenting plan was hard for me. It takes BOTH or ALL adults involved.
