never ceases to amaze me!!
I work for a school district where the Superintendant actually received a letter from a parent that was addressed as follows:

"Dear Super Attendant" ... this was like 10 years ago, but I will never forget it!

Yes it is i get on to my niece all the time for that. My mom says warsh and warsher all the time. She did NOT grow up that way. It makes me cringe every time I hear her say it. I usually tell her mom it is WASH not warsh there is no R in WASH!

Maybe her parents should BEAT the correct spelling into her OK OK JOKE, just a little fired up from the other blog LMAO

LOL I couldn't help myself. I just get so annoyed when people are so judgemental. I have freinds that I don't agree with certian things they do as parents, BUT I don't judge, if it works for your kid and your family then by all means go nuts!!

It's like the FF/BF debate, who cares. Formula is not POSION, we're not putting vodka in the baby bottle. Your baby is getting what it need weather it's BM or FF lol.......

Not meant to start a debate just making a comparasion, as long as the child is not in harms way or bieng hurt. MYOB! if you don't agree

purpledaisies's picture

I agree! Different things works for different people doesn't mean they are wrong just different.

LOL me too. I am still upset about her saying that cps will take your child away. I have talked to many case workers and they have told me the opposite. They just can't let foster parents spank but they have told me that sometimes they wish they could.

I blame texting & Twitter.
Kids no longer have to read or write to communicate. All these acronyms just promote mental laziness. I read twitter & it is unbelievable that people have come to understand all this abbreviated nonsense.

My skids have horrible grammer and I blame my MIL and partially, my DH.

They say "I seen" and "I brung." It drives me crazy. There is no such word as "brung" grr. It truly grates on my nerves and I hear it at least once a day. I want to start making them drop and give me 20 push-ups every single time I hear "brung." Or perhaps they should write sentences.
"Today, I brought whatever it was the skid was talking about." 50 times.

The skids also say "birfday" instead of "birthday." I keep asking them "what?" and they keep repeating the word like I have no clue what they're talking about and they'll keep repeating "birfday" as birthdays are a pretty exciting subject until I'm about ready scream and I tell them there is no "f" in birthday.

I know I can't stand it when they say wif instead of with. I can't stand it. I even posted it on face book and told them that when they type wif, and kan or kan't and stuff like that it just makes them look stupid! It drives me nuts!

My favorite was someone who wrote "I am to smart to put up with crap." I replied "Ehh..TOO SMART HUH?!?!?!" LOL!!!!

Purple, between your post and Crayon's post this morning on the MASSIVE CS topic, you both have me ON FIRE this morning!!!!

This is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves!!!! Poor grammar and/or spelling!!! All of the ridiculous abbreviations in texting, Tweeting, etc... Don't EVEN get me started....

Unfortunately, it seems that most of this generation is the result of the "dumbing down" of ALL educational standards in this country -and also the result of the "non-parenting/self-esteem" method of parenting movement. Meanwhile, children of other countries EASILY surpass the educational level of ours. Sigh....

Skids here (FSD16 & FSS13) have some of the poorest spelling and grammar around. It is VERY DIFFICULT to live on a daily basis with this - knowing that they have 2 HEALTHY PARENTS that just have NO concept of EDUCATING their children beyond the level of their OWN knowledge. It's so strange, it's like it doesn't even PHASE them that their kids can't spell or write properly!!!

This is one of MANY reasons why I am still so "on the fence" about having children myself (and I'm "older", in terms of average age to have children). I just can't see myself bringing a child into this world with this country in such a SAD state of affairs, uneducated, entitled children - and parents that raise them that way thinking it's ACCEPTABLE!!!

A big part of a past job was proof reading. I would NOT recommend it. Now, whenever I see a misspelling, I get pretty annoyed about it.

Especially when it is in your local newspaper. Come ON people! This is your JOB. You want people driving through to think we are a bunch of back road hillbillies?? [No offense to back road hillbillies :)]

OMG - DO NOT get me going on the topic of the lack of proper grammar and / or spelling that I have sadly been a witness to in this country lately. It literally makes me sick. That is the topic, right? LOL
