Well... here I am... again.
After a long, long, looooonnnnnnggggggggggggg hiatus, I find myself back here again. Sigh. Well, the vacation was good while it lasted.
Although, much of 'our' drama isn't centered around obnoxious BM's or tantrum throwing SK's, no, no. So I find myself very very lucky in that corner. (It wasn't always that way.) But no, this time our tribulations are with the state and the financial woes that it has bestowed upon us... ugh. Do not move to California!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Govenator needs to be shot!!!!!!!!!!!
So, the short end of the stick is- we're heading back to court here in a short few to get the $1000.00 cs payment we struggle with down because the state we live in cut my DH's pay by over 15%, and wants to take another 5%!!! Um, we are barely treading water, and in the red as we speak. Yep, we're heading back to court!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry BM, but it's time you get a job!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh.... the fine art of venting. I so do miss you. Thanks for listening/reading!

Well, I most certainly hope the court
pulls that CS payment down and things work out for the better for you guys. You can not control that the government took pay away. So BM needs to get off her butt and work. Bottom line.
Wish you the best of luck and hope things turn around soon for your family.
Good Luck..
Good luck trying to get BM to get a job in CA. My DH got a court order for BM to seek employment over 4 YEARS AGO!!! she was supposed to provide logs of 15 job applications each month to the court until she got a job. Did she do any of this??? Did she EVER complete even 1 log?? NO!! Did the court ever try to enforce the order? find her in contempt? ANY consquences whatsoever??? NOPE -- 4 YEARS!!! She did however try to force him to pay for her "work skills" to be evaluated ($5000!!!) AND she wanted him to pay for her to get a Master's degree. My DH has no college education, but was managing (somehow) to pay $3000 a month in CS & SS. Now that the CS & SS have finally ended I hear she got a job...
Hope you have better luck than we did...
Well... BM is in a school
Well... BM is in a school program that also has job placement once you complete the program. She's about close to her completion date, so, we're going to hang back a little bit before we actually go to court, but we are in the 'prep' stage for it.
For one, it's not that we're going to ask the court to 'force' her to get work, but more of focusing on our own financial end, DH is making less than before, so basically with that, we'll get CS lowered, and I'm going back to full time work, which will put us in a higher tax bracket. All of that alone will drop CS to roughly half. With that, once CS is lowered, that in turn will force BM to have to get a job to compensate for the loss, and geeh... guess what... we'll go back to court one more time, because BM actually will be making money, and the court will calculate her income with DH's. Damn! Life's a b!tch!
This BM is, well... stupid. We've been through the whole custody court with my/DH's first child, (separate BM's) and this BM hasn't ever had to deal with this before. She doesn't really know what to expect. We do, fortunately. We're "OldTimers" at this game... LOL.

Sounds like you're in a good position..
Sounds like you're in a good position as far as court is concerned. Sorry about your DH's paycut(s) it's definitely not a pretty economic picture here in CA. Maybe someday we will have a budget???
Hope it all goes well for you.
