Best Christmas EVER- Stepkid free

NotReally's picture

First blog post and I have something good to post Smile

For the first time in the 7 years since we've been married, I got a stepkid free Christmas. It was freaking AWESOME! It made me really realize it's not the in-laws I mind, it's the kids!

My hubby has 4 kids and 3 BMS and yes, it really does suck. I love him but I probably wouldn't had married him if I knew how this step mom thing would work before hand. Anyways, last year SD15 decided she couldn't be away from her boyfriend long enough for Christmas. It made Christmas even worse then it normally is. I was dreading this year. Even got in a big fight with DH hoping he would leave me behind (We celebrate christmas at his parent's)

Then nothing. They never showed Blum 3 They called at one point wanting someone to come get them (even though the boyfriend drives)Since we hadn't heard from them, we were already having Christmas. No one wanted to go get them. That part surprised me but they've been treating everybody in the family like dogs so I guess no one wanted them around.

The only downside is it broke my DH's heart. Now that they're older, they never want to come over and see him anymore. He doesn't want to force them to see him either. At least he thought they would come by for gifts but nope.

I hope you do get to have one, starfish! I thought we would never get one either since SD15 used to be my mil's darling. But teenagers can be super selfish and it finally got to my Mil. So don't give up hope!!

I try to remind Dh that it's not his kids that are horrible, it's kids their age in general (15-20). I keep telling him to just wait, they'll grow up eventually. LOL
