Anybody else not looking forward to crappy Russel Stover candy?

Valentines Day really isn't that big of a deal for me. DH asked me while we were running around doing errands when it was

"Whens Valentines day, Wednesday, right?"
"Uh, no, today"
"Oh, I thought it was Wednesday"
"No, its today"
"Oh...Happy Valentines, baby!
"Yea okay. Your presents in here"[in the console of the truck] I hand it to him still in the bag (its camoflauge lingerie from the local outdoor store, we hunt, I thought it was cute) which to my knowledge he still hasn't opened.

We finish doing his errands and its obvious he forgets that I wanted to go get a tattoo today cause we go home. I'm irritated and he doesn't exactly understand why, but he's got to go do some stupid farm work (its a hobby that takes wayyyy too much time and money) so he leaves.

I predict he's going to return with a huge box of those crappy drugstore chocolates and a card. Those chocolates are AWFUL! The only good one is the caramel filled one but the rest must be filled with death, week-old afterbirth and crunchy fossilized rabbit droppings. He won't bring flowers because I don't like them, but I'm not crazy about cards either. Why pay $5 for someone elses little drawing and two sentence message? Also, what is the etiquette on keeping cards? I feel its rude to throw them out, so they end up cluttering a drawer to the point I can't open it.

Please tell me the lingerie wasn't for him Wink

The honor choir at the local high school does a fundraiser at V-day...for $25 bucks, they'll come and sing a few songs and give you a rose and chocolates. Very sweet, and definitely different!

Maybe do a little "recon" work and drop not so subtle hints?

No, its for me, lol. I tried to find silky camo boxers but no dice. Like, I said, its no big deal, but he knows I'm irritated and I'm sure he thinks cause he forgot, so I just know that he's gonna try to make up for it this way. I just had to document it so when he comes home in a few hours I can say "I knew it!"

I try to teach him to go to the Godiva store but I always end up with something I hate! Sometimes he is good and gets me Lindor Truffles but if I say I want milk chocolate he will get dark chocolate. I can't win so I will just be happy he got me something!!
He is on his way home now. I am thinking he is running around looking for decent flowers because now its late and they are mostly gone.
He did mention he got the kids a bear with chocolates but I already got them something.

How did you accomplish that. It is what I get every year. I was tempted to throw the candy heart into the trash right in front of his face.
