Happy Valentine's day to you.  I agree that the fulfilling relationships in our lives don't always have to be romantic ones!

I also tend to find that people that 'don't believe in hallmark" are more lazy relationship people.. because in the end... it doesn't matter if THEY are hallmark people.. if their partner sees value in it?  wouldn't they do more?

I mean.. when my DH and I first started dating.. he said similar.. but eventually I made a point to tell him that while it didn't have to be huge.. or wildly expensive.. it was nice to be recognized.

Guess who has a bouquet of roses from Food Lion on her desk at home now.. me.  not super expensive.. but he is making an effort.. not because HE values the day.. but because he knows it makes me happy.

It's kind of the if he wanted to he would concept.  I  mean.. yeah.. if we don't have money to keep t he lights on.. or if I truly hated flowers. but I think we often let people off the hook too easily because we women try to not take up too much space.. try not to be too demanding.. etc..

But.. again.. happy valentine's to YOU.. enjoy all the wonderful things happening for you now!

You are so right!  It's about love for everyone.  This has always been one of my favorite holidays.  I am fully decorated and happily wishing everyone I speak to a Happy Valentines Day :)

My girlfriend just left after making her rounds of dropping our friend group personalized little swag bags.  I made cupcakes for the SS's and their gals.  My mother is not a fan of the day, but I did drop off some inexpensive shoprite flowers.  My DH and I exchanged cards and chocolate this morning and tonight I am making him my famous meatloaf that he loves.  Simple but he loves it and the kitty will get some of his treats.

Its a "school night" for us both, and we live 30 mins from anything fun.

Husband bought me a pretty orchid plant a few days ago and brought home a yellow rose and pink carnation bouquet last night. So all THOSE boxes are checked.

As to doing fun things tonight - hes probably going to be too tired and if I want to go out he will grump out the whole evening so its probably going to be a nice dinner at home in pjs. I do want to go out dancing friday night.

Sadly I have no kiddos. My fur kids love me all year round.

Happy Valentines day to you and everyone Biggrin

You're so sweet. Happy Valentine's Day!

My husband and and I are in a bit of a strange place these days with an elderly relative (potentially) on her death bed, family drama surrounding that and my husband suffering from some medical issues that we haven't found the source of yet.

So we're not going all out this year, but we're going to exchange small gifts today and got a babysitter booked for Saturday night to get out of the house without the kids.

I signed up for a weight loss/exercise group and we have a class tonight on nutrition that I'm attending. So that's a bit of love for myself to get fitter and healthier.
