I'm not a big fan of Fathers day. I never get invited to any sort of 'FAMILY' gathering for DH on fathers day or any other day unless I'm doing something for him. You would think that after 10 years of being togehter I would get treated differently but I don't.
I sometimes think that if DH and I were to have children together his family would treat me differently.
Let me back track a little, when DH and I were first married I would get invited to things. But boy oh boy did I hear all kinds of fun stuff about my DH's past. SIL would call me by BM1's name or would talk about her ALL the time. Then MIL would start doing the same thing. I would hear how wonderful she was and how they will always love her BLAH BLAH BLAH...If she was so wonderful why the hell isn't she still married to my DH???? Maybe because she should have kept those knees tight.
Anyways, I got tired of the little jabs here and there. A person can only take so much until they break, well I broke and when they started up with me I would give it right back. My DH finally said somehing to them and they did stop THEY STOPPED INVITING ME TO THINGS. There's no winning with these people.
The family is growing (nieces and nephews having children) and I would love to be apart of the festivities but again I DON'T GET INVITED. Instead the family invites BM1 and sometimes BM2 to baby showers/parties etc.
