Dropped off!

I just dropped off SS16 at his BMs for the weekend (2 hours one way). I was absolutely dreading being in the car with just him after the week we have had. I resisted the urge to scold him when he first got in the car (he was touching the baby's toys and has bad personal hygiene). We ended up talking the entire trip, about cars, classes, war, books, the weather, everything. I enjoyed the trip, and it felt good not to spend the entire time angry or unhappy. I was proud of myself lol (still am!) I wish I could be like that more often.
About half way there he asked me why I never turn the radio on in the car, I explained that with my bio kids we have always used road trips just like we do the dinner table...to talk. He nodded and smiled and told me about his dream pickup Smile

That's great. I like to do the same in the car sometimes, just turn the radio off and talk. It's nice.

I am glad you enjoyed your trip. Nice way to start a relaxing weekend.

We do the same thing in our car, we found the kids get distracted with the radio and zone out. Congrates on a nice trip!

I do this too with BS12. Sometimes he doesn't even notice until we reach our destination that the radio wasn't even on Smile I'm def going to try this with SD12. I don't think DH or BM have ever done this with her.
