So BM has a new boyfriend since the beginning of June. We didn't know much about him other than his first name and his last name was a big secret, none of the kids knew. The only other thing we knew was that he used to be a cop in our town at some point in the past. So we say to ourselves "Oh, good, if he used to be a cop he probably doesn't have a criminal record unlike the other convicted and previously imprisoned drug dealers/wife beaters she usually dates."

So he's been around on pretty much every weekend visitation she's had since June. The kids spent the month of July with her for the first time ever. It's the longest time they've been around her since before the divorce over 5 years ago. They were miserable with her and saw her true colors over the course of the month (but that's another story). When they came home last Sunday they started telling us more about this BF. Seems that one day their mom disappeared all day and when she came home she said she had been to court with BF and that he had something going on, but that it didn't affect them and not to worry about it. So of course, we realized we needed to find out his last name and look him up on the state court database for pending charges. SD15 told us that he gave her the creeps, but she couldn't really figure out why.

DH has an old friend that works next to the police station in our town, so she went and asked the dispatcher (her friend) who this guy was and they looked him up and found out his last name. We looked him up and the charges against him (that according to BM have nothing to do with Skids) are:

Felony 1st Degree sex offense child (which means child under 13)
Felony Indecent Liberties with child (which means child 14-16)
Felony Sex Offense - Parental Role

Um...I think this might apply to my SD15 and SS14? So DH's friend finds the police chief (also a friend) and asks him about BM's BF, he was fired from the police dept. in 2008. He couldn't discuss the details, but said "I wouldn't let my kids around him" The charges are from 2010, but it makes you wonder why he was fired and what the chief knows. He also told her that the charges were about BM's BF former girlfriend's daughter, thus the parental role charge. So basically raped his girlfriend's daughter, but BM doesn't think that affects the kids at all?!? Nice parenting skills.

She's known about this the whole time she let him around her kids. Pretty unbelievable for someone who claims her SF raped her at 15. Well, first he molested her and then about 15-20 years later that he raped her. DH has never believed her story, because it kept changing, etc. BM got herself removed from her home at 16 by calling CPS claiming this (hmmm wonder where SD15 got the idea in January - see previous blogs) I find it pretty hard to believe that any prior abuse victim would voluntarily and happily put their own children in the presence of a child sex offender, but that's just me.

So we called our lawyer. We have court tomorrow anyway for an increase in child support, so he's going to ask her to voluntarily sign an order saying that BF can NEVER be in their presence. If she won't (she is crazy/stupid enough) he'll bring it before the judge. Let her try to argue that one to a judge. Lawyer said if she violates the order, that the judge would crucify her and she would "never recover". We've had a long legal battle with her and her BPD crazy self.

The sad part is, none of us are suprised that she would do this. I've been expecting it/worried about something like this since I met DH. SD15 said "I knew it was something like that because of how mommy was acting". SS14 said "Just more proof that my mom doesn't care about me or SD15, she only cares about herself"
