Question regarding garnishment
DH got an auto generated message from State regarding past due child support. He is paid weekly and it is garnished.
When he logged into the state site - sure enough the last two weeks are not reflecting even though his pay stub shows the deduction both weeks.
First question - if his employer hasn't forwarded the money is there some recourse?
Second question - does he need to notify the State with copies of stubs to prevent late fees etc?
What else do I need to worry about? This is freaking him out. Thanks in advance for your help.

He should ask his employer/hr
He should ask his employer/hr/payroll if they have submitted the funds. If the do not make payments online and they mailed them... the post office around here is getting slower and slower. If his employer is holding the funds....THEY can get in trouble for that.
Also, he should follow up with child support. They likely will want to see stubs.
Go to payroll Monday
Go to payroll Monday
Bring copy of letter the support agency sent.
Ask payroll to prove payment.
Could depend on how employer was instructed
Every state does things differently and I think even within the same state localities/counties can have some big differences between them too. I would check with employer first to see what they were instructed to do and why nothing was sent in. Could be a delay if they're mailing it, an oversight on payroll department, a system glitch like the employer clicked submit but it didn't go thru. Any number of things could have happened.
Find out from the employer and then call CS to see how they want it handled/fixed.
ExH1 got paid every 2 weeks so 26 paydays a year. Two months a year he would have 3 paydays. I think it was usually January and July that happens. While the employer garnished all 26 paydays, I got 24 payments a year. But in my county the state kept the 3rd payment in long months to cover their "support fees".
I had a friend who lives in the same state but a different county. Her ex got paid weekly and his CS was split up into 4 weekly payments a month. In their county support fees were taken directly from each payment and months he had a 5th payday nothing was to be garnished.
