Dh's grown daughter, boyfriend, and some of the grandchildren visited over night a couple weeks ago. It actually turned out to be a nice visit.

I had been concerned about feeling uncomfortable since this is a sd I had no contact with for about 8 years. The boyfriend and their twin boys I had never met[6 year olds]and another child was a baby when I last saw her. Although my Dh had given sd $100. bribe to come the last time he saw her, I was more concerned about DH leaving me with" strangers" while he had made plans with the boyfriend to go fishing. Since Dh had made the plans with the boyfriend and it would involve 6 additional people being in our 2 bedroom home I was also concerned about sleeping arrangements. Not my problem, I sat back and let the 2 people that made these plans figure it out.

All went well. They arrived about 4pm on Friday. At 6pm my Dh asked what I had to feed them. I said" I had no idea what food we had in the freezer since I do not do the grocery shopping." Dh and the boyfriend found some hotdogs to grill. They grilled, I sat and visited with sd.

By 6pm the family had put up a tent to sleep in. This was the first camp out experience for the twins. [We live on 2 acres with woods] After a brief camp fire, they were all in the tent for the night.

7 am I offered them a cup of coffee, and by 9 am I was off to a local tourist site with my nephew and dh took them out for breakfast. SD had her own grandchild's birthday party to attend that day so after breakfast they all packed up and drove the 3 hour drive to get together with their family members and attend the party.

I was not there to wave good bye, but it at least made my dh happy to have sd spend some time with him.
