OK, tomorrow is sesh #3 and it's the first time the Skids will be brought up. Oh myyyyy.
So, the other day DH sits me down to talk. SSstb16 wants to go live with BM for the summer, and also the following school year. DH does not want him to because (my reasons, not his):
*He only wants to live there because there are no rules, no curfews, no punishments, and no one to make you do your homework.
* he wants to be able to keep up the fantasy that SSstb16 loves him "best".
This kid and DH could not be more oil and water. They have nothing in common and my DH's personality pisses SKstb16 off royally. He is genuinely close to his mom. Yes, there are big problems there, but emotionally he has a connection to her and he has no connection to anyone here. He's like a droid here, and only socializes online with people he has never even met and likely don't exist.
So, DH lays this one on me... he wants SSstb16 to stay in his current school so HE CAN GET GOOD REFERENCES FOR COLLEGE.
S'CUSE ME??? The kid can't get himself up, can't feed himself, can't remember to do anything- and I mean ANYTHING- even things he w2ants to do, can't police himself to do or turn in homework, and still wets the bed. He is passing with low D's in every core class, and ONLY because DH has begged teachers for extra credit, make up assignments, and held his hand to make sure they get done.
And he's thinking this kid is getting into a University????
I sure as hell am not ponying up 35-50K a year for this dead beat to go to college, blow our money, discover drugs, and drop out.
Now if he can graduate, pull his shit together, prove himself with a part time job and doing well ON HIS OWN in community college? Then sure thing, I will help.
But a free ticket for this train wreck? Oh HELLS NO.
The issue isn't the skid so much as DH over here who thinks his son is just the world's mist precious everything, and everything he does is SO amazing!
The kids basically an incompetent moron who isn't even especially talented. DH thinks he's a musical genius, and the kid can't even make Jazz Band or get a solo.
