Men with Babies LOL
DH and I were looking out the window and a neighborhood kid was outside with her pet bunny. A bunch of other kids started to surround her so they could look at the rabbit. I commented that she's getting a lot of attention because of her rabbit. DH said, "Yep, just like a man with a baby. A man with a baby knows he will get the attention of a bunch of women." Without even pausing to think before I talked, I said, "Um...no. Men with babies are NOT cute. Things are different nowadays. Women see a man with a baby and they run."
DH just stood there with a look of being completely caught off guard. I really wanted to say more but I stopped, knowing it would only amount in another fight about how much FMSL just "hates kids and DH just loves them" and I must not be a real woman with "natural" motherly instincts.

I think it depends. I think
I think it depends. I think it is attractive to some women to see a man holding a friends baby and being so gentle. Not necessarily their own.
If the woman is ovulating,
If the woman is ovulating, she'll love a man with a babie. lol
Your husband is right. Kids
Your husband is right. Kids are chick magnets.
I love seeing men out and about with their kids.
It depends whether the chick
It depends whether the chick likes kids or not!
I used to like kids, thought
I used to like kids, thought I liked everyone's kids. Then Chucky came out to play.
Why would a parent waste
Why would a parent waste his/her time dating someone who hates/dislikes kids?? :? :?
Just because a person
Just because a person dislikes kids doesn't mean she can't treat them really well. I know several of such cases.
I don't like kids, and I
I don't like kids, and I treat my skids very well. I don't know how it's possible, but it is.
I think if it's a clearly
I think if it's a clearly single guy with a cute nephew, then yes women will be into that because they see they're looking for a potential father for their own children. If I was single and came across a single dad with a baby, I would run. That's 18 whole years of baby mama drama to contend with. No thanks.
21 years if you live in New
21 years if you live in New York State.
I usually see the men at the
I usually see the men at the grocery store, and my attraction is based on the kid's behavior. If the kid is crawling out of the shopping cart or running down the aisle, not listening, instant UNattraction. If the kids are behaved and the man is interacting, talking to them and has it under control, then there is more of an "Awwww how sweet" feeling on my part. This is for guys with wee little toddlers, 2 and 3 years old, who can walk and go crazy in a store already.
It's been a long time since I've seen a man with a BABY (a true non-walking infant) in his arms or in a carrier. Maybe there's a reason for that! LOL They usually look like a deer in the headlights.

I was never attracted to a man holding a baby...in fact I always assumed they screwed up if they were young like a one nights stand or something. I avoided those guys
A man with a baby knows he
A man with a baby knows he will get the attention of a bunch of women.
A cute dog will have the same effect.
"Maternal instincts" are
"Maternal instincts" are largely a modern development that originated at or around the start of the Industrial Revolution. When folks moved away from living off of the land to working in factories and offices, children became an expense rather than contributors to a family's bottom line. The concept of childhood also began around that time as well. Prior to that children as young as 5 were expected to work on the farm in order to help support the family. Can you imagine any of our skids doing that now?
Infant mortality was so high that mothers often didn't become attached to their children until they reached an age (1 or older) when they were more likely to survive.
If we look to the natural world, maternal instincts largely have to do with the survival of the fittest. In most cases, animal species won't hesitate to cull spawn that aren't healthy.
Anyway, that's my way of saying that there's no biological reason that our panties should drop when we see a man holding a baby that he's created with another women. In fact, if anything, especially in this day and age when women don't need a man for much, it should make us zip up our pants and run in the other direction as fast as our feet can carry us. If only I had taken my own advice :?
As an aside, my husband likes babies and children way more than I do.
I think I have a lady crush
I think I have a lady crush on you, Redtiger!
I'm in the camp where the Dickensian world was a hell of a lot better than the child adoration movement we see now which is sprouting felons by the millions.
Nope - I don't see the
Nope - I don't see the attraction neither. I see a man with a kid.. and I assume he's married / engaged / with someone.. which means hands off and stay far..far away.
I don't think babies or kids
I don't think babies or kids are cute, so I don't pay any attention to them when I'm out.
Someone walking a dog always gets my attention, though.
I'm with you! Especially not
I'm with you! Especially not today's kids who are being raised up to be BRATS! I do congratulate parents who have well behaved children though. It's such a rarity.
Just this past weekend an entire "modern" family was blocking the entry way of a big box hardware store whilst the mother repeatedly ASKED her too-big-to-ride-in-the-cart kid IF he wanted to ride in the cart.
This was EXACTLY what CHEF did back during those first six years of stepHELL!
The hapless father stood idly by holding their latest progeny. The kid started in on a speech debating on whether or not he felt like sitting in the cart while blocking all the other patrons trying to get in.
I pointed out quickly to Chef that you don't ASK a kid what they want to do, you TELL them what they will do. It's called LEADERSHIP and parenting.
