Lice
Well SD5 returned yesterday from being with her mother. Of course she comes home with lice! Now not once in my life have I ever had lice. She is always so dirty when she comes home and it makes me sick. She walks in with stained up clothing and feet were so black. I know kids are dirty in general but I have never let her get like that. Its just amazing to me how she could let child get like that. She let's me know that she seen nits in her hair and treated it but it's whatever. Didn't even seem concerned. So of course tonight I looked all over the net to find the best treatment ( I dont feel the chemicals from the store are the best for her body) so I found a home remedy and so far so good. All it took was some time to do it but I guess she didn't have the time so let's just stick a 10 minute box of chemicals in her hair. It just disgusts me. Ok that's my rant for the day.

Just because someone has lice
Just because someone has lice does not mean they are dirty. It is actually the total opposite... Lice only like clean hair! If your hair is dirty you have a very low chance of getting lice. I have never had lice either. I am a hairstylist and purposely do not wash my hair when I go to work and make sure I have lots of hairspray in it to dirty it up. I see lice all the time
It is true that lice are only
It is true that lice are only attracted to clean hair, so BM is just letting the child get dirty on the days shes coming to you guys. Big surprise.
As far as the lice treatment goes...I had lice three times as a child all in the same year. My mom cut my hair to my shoulders in a bob (I had hair down to my butt). A good way to get the nits and such out is baby oil. It helps release the hold the hair follicle, so its easier to comb the eggs out. Good luck tackling the lice!
Well I did listerine for 2
Well I did listerine for 2 hours and vinegar for one hour and I think I got the things. So gross and I feel so bad for my SD.
My mom's a teacher and
My mom's a teacher and there's at least 4-5 cases a year of lice. There is really not much to worry about with lice as long as you catch it early. If you get it still in the nit stage, you can treat it, comb it out and wash all of their bed clothes well and stuff and you should be fine. When they've had it for a while is when you have to get concerned because it will spread to other members of the family and other parts of the house. Really, it's something that's very common and easily treatable.
Also buy the lice spray and
Also buy the lice spray and bag up things in your house that she uses... Pillows, sheets, clothes. Spray it all and close it up in a bag for 24 hours. BM should do the same.
That's what I am afraid of
That's what I am afraid of her not doing it! I am going to be so upset if she comes back after this weekend with them again. It not fair to my SD or me! Having her sit for like a total of 3+ hours was not an easy task. But I have been spraying and washing everything like a crazy woman. I want these thing far away!
