Zippy TRIES to pull a fast one on DH

But then again-hard to with no Life Skills Training....

I have been busy with a career transition-but "The Adventures with Zippy" carry on...

Zippy is almost 17 now (I have seen him blossom from a little 5'10" 14 year old thumb sucker, hanging off DH- to an almost 17 year old-6"2 - brain dead 24/7 gamer-ahhh the sentimental part of me is showing....)

On the UP side-Zip has kept a job at the local hamburger joint for a record 2 months now (on my way with a cake to celebrate this weekend!)-

Thank Goodness you guys are here! ( I have raised two sons as a single mom through the teen years (my Ex -a cop, was "scared of the boys" and ran screaming with his tail between his legs during the teen years)- Charlie One (26 years old) and Charlie two (24 years old) (think of the sitcom Two and a Half Men) both Charlies are now contributing members of society and take care of themselves - My now Dh says I have two Charlie's-but I am unable to give ANY advice re Zippy 16 3/4th's:

Summer with Zippy16.5-

DH made house rules for summer....

One of them being-Zippy must be out of bed by noon

Zippy crawls out of bed between 1:30-2:00pm everyday.

DH say's Zippy can game until 11:30pm Mon-Thurs-weekends it is midnight-(Zippy runs a half hour later -Mon-Thurs-12:00pm and Weekends it is whenever)

DH says Zippy does not respect him

Any Guesses?

As some of you have been reading about Zippy16.5 on this site I am wondering if I am being skittish about something.

Zippy hates to work, he would rather game his brains out than do anything else in the world and he would rather do that in our basement 24/7-DH see's nothing wrong with this as this is what kids do these days (yeah right-but I know nothing since my kids are grown).

Zippy's friend Art got Zippy a job where he works at the local hamburger joint. On top of hating to work period-Zippy has to leave early for said job as he must bus (pauvre, pauvre Zippykins).

Of Dog Poop!

Yesterday took the cake with Zippy16.5.

My bio sons were coming over for Sunday dinner and we got to meet sons new girlfriend.

I was busy all day getting house cleaned and menu prepared. Zippy slept his usual 14 or so hours and I came in the living room to see Zippy eating Kraft Dinner on the living room pillows yet AGAIN.

I said: "Zippy-I really should not have to tell you everyday to stop eating your meals perched precariously on the living room pillows-I do not want grease and food all over the pillows and sofa-now STOP this behavior!

So Frustrating

Another Zippy16.5 day....

DH asked Zippy to take a shower BEFORE work yesterday (Zippy had not showered for about 4 days and was quite ripe.) Zippy was also to take his once a day acne pill.

We get home and Zippy is off to work-Zippy works in the food service so looking like he crawled out of a sewer and going to work like that is just so wrong-DH agreed.

ME -to Zippy16.5.

I am ruining his summer }:)

I am off for a few weeks this summer catching up with home improvements. Zippy out of school and for the past two summers I have lived through:

Zippy's summer hours -2pm-11:30pm (wakes up at 2pm)
Zippy laying like a lazy lion on the living room couch eating bowl after bowl of food watching tv
Zippy, then sauntering downstairs around 4pm to video game his brains out until bed

Repeat day after day for two years-BUT NOT THIS YEAR

Hygiene issues

I have been reading Rag's blog about hygeine and his 17 yr old SS-DH and I have the same issue with Zippy 16.5. Zippy has severe acne (genetic) and has meds and special soaps for his face and a Dr.'s regime (see skin blog for details) that for reason's unknown to me -Zippy fails to comply an DH see's "no big deal"-Zippy now has a break out with acne the size of golf balls on his face whereby people are pointing and staring (I kid you not!).
