So Frustrating
Another Zippy16.5 day....
DH asked Zippy to take a shower BEFORE work yesterday (Zippy had not showered for about 4 days and was quite ripe.) Zippy was also to take his once a day acne pill.
We get home and Zippy is off to work-Zippy works in the food service so looking like he crawled out of a sewer and going to work like that is just so wrong-DH agreed.
So Zippy has gone to work and DH checks the shower-it is dry, towels are dry-DH thinks Zip is still downstairs and shouts down. I ask DH what are you yelling for Zip -I think he has gone to work. DH says I don't think he showered.
We were out for the evening-I can tell you what happened-
Zippy went to work looking like he stepped out of the tarpits and showered AFTER his shift.
We get home and Zip is BBQing burgs outside-leaving the patio door wide open to thousands of mosquitos-and looks showered. I say to DH that it looks like Zip has showered but that he really should talk to Zip about GOING to work looking like he did. DH agrees and goes downstairs to talk to Zip-who bold face lies and says he did take a shower BEFORE work-isn't it funny bathroom and towels are soaking now huh?
DH DOUBTS HIS OWN DRY SHOWER AND TOWEL CHECK AND SAYS "ZIPPY IS ADAMENT HE SHOWERED BEFORE WORK SO HE MUST HAVE"

I start to use logic and then it turns into a heated discussion, and hair splitting-I just left the room -asked DH in front of the HONEST (not) Zippy -to get Zippy to take his pill-which of course Zippy hadn't taken his pill-
I know it is trivial stuff but it gets on my last nerve and I need to let it go big time-
Let him send Zippy out in the world and let the world chew Zippy up and spit Zippy out I guess....

Look/smell like Sh!t... Let him permanently scar his face, whatever, just disengage, let dh deal with the Zip.
My Ss
is a little younger (13.5) than Zippy but we are dealing with some of the same stuff. Like your Dh, my Dh will almost always try and believe Ss and it almost always turns into them against me. I HATE that!! When Dh agrees or believes Ss over me, Ss then think he has the right to argue with me and not listen to me because he thinks his Dad will have his back.
I am really having problems with Ss since he hit the teens and we are not even close to the worst part I'm sure. Right now it's almost 10am and Ss is still in bed. What he will do is crawl out of bed sometime before lunch and head straight to the video games where he will stay until I force him to stop! It's not acceptable to me.
If I have to hear one more time about how what Ss is doing is "normal" teen crap I'm gonna scream. Just because some of it is "normal" doesn't mean I have to allow it in MY house.

DH and I pay the bills-not Zippy-(BTW Dawn-It is noon here and Zippy is still sleeping) because DH wants to give Zippy more priveliges so "Zippy will step up to the plate with them" :sick:
I am the one who has to live with the funky odors and filthy bedroom and gaming areas-while DH runs around desperate for Zippy's approval and love-the guy just does not get it....nor will he.

The soap thing
I KNOW for a FACT that SD16 does not use soap when she showers because there has been no soap in her bathroom (she's the only one who uses it) for almost a YEAR. If we have company, I put a fresh bar of soap in there. Then I take it out when they leave. So there is NO soap. How gross is that?!

I wouldnt deal with that! Call him out...tell him yourself he stinks! Maybe that will embrass him enough to shower?
