Fantastic!

DP and I had almost no time together the last five days due to work and SDs and likely won't have much time for same reasons for the next five. So I get a text from DP this afternoon, "want to meet me at a hotel near your work tonight?" Ten mintutes later arrangements were made and plans put in place and viola!
He is pretty dang fantastic overall.

An Affair

Came home the other night last week, later than normal, to DH sitting on couch (and a clean living room, again! Yay for me!) – says to me, “We need to talk about something.”

Trash can

Pretty nice day with DP and SDs overall.
Apparently DP had a Looooong talk with them on Thursday and their attidude is better for now. I did catch SD11 with a smirk after a questionable comment she made but let it pass.
Whatevs.
However, I kind of lost it after SD9 kicked her cleaned trash can away from the door to her room (left there so she would put it away). She did the same thing two days in a row with some clothes (now in attic) so I know she's doing it on purpose.

Checked their rooms

After they left after their usual EOW 5 day stay...SD9 did ok as usual with the clean-up. She’s pretty neat overall but I’ve recently had to watch she doesn’t leave any of her science project kit results standing around to ferment or taken in anything from outside that could rot. She didn’t put her dirty (favorite) PJs in her laundry basket so I put them in ours to be washed whenever I feel like it. May change the sheets on her bed this weekend since I suspect her room will stay fairly clean on her weekday visits this week. She only changed her socks one time, i.e.

Attic Storage

Gathered up all of SD11 and SD9 things that were laying around the living room after they left last Monday morning. Put it all in a bag and put that bag in the attic. I wonder how long it’ll take before they miss the stuff? I give it a month, two, never? And I don’t know what they are talking about, no, I haven’t seen it.

The Weekend of the Readings

A couple weekends ago, it was off to a very good start. Girls chose a movie (really SD11 chose the movie) as usual for “movie night.” SD9 snuggled with DP and at a kind of scary part (not really) SD11 asked to sit with me. Which she hasn’t done for months. She stayed the whole time too, even brushed her teeth and got her PJs on with little cajoling. Saturday was great, went out with a friend in the afternoon so I got away from the afternoon chaos. Get back, make tacos for everyone; one of the few things SD11 will actively eat a normal amount of.
