SS10 Arrives Today
DH, DD, and I are at my FIL's wedding today, so my parents drove out-of-state to pick SS10 up for his last two week visit of summer. My parents said it worked out well for them because they have long time friends in the same city that they have been wanting to visit.
So my parents arrived to BM's to pick-up SS. They couldn't find the house but SS saw their car drive by a few times and flagged them down. BM and GF both came out to say "Hello." My Mom said GF did all the talking while BM just stood there. My Mom said that GF handed SS two 12 pound weights, his emergency croup medication, and an insurance card to bring with him. The irony is, we already have BM's insurance card so I'm not sure why she sent another. My Mom said GF gave SS a big hug and kiss before they left, while BM just waved to SS, turned around, and just walked inside - no hug, no kiss, nothing. I can't say that surprises me anymore.
My parents stopped at a gas station on the way back and my Mom asked SS if he wanted snacks. SS said "CastleJJ always packs me a snack bag" (which I do). My Mom told him to double check his backpack, just in case, which he did and found his usual snack bag. SS said "See I told you! CastleJJ never ever misses packing a snack bag for me!" My parents said he has been super talkative and excited the whole trip home and can't wait to see everyone.
I am so hoping SS has a great visit with us and that there is no drama!

That's really cute about the
That's really cute about the snack bag! I hope you all have a nice time.
More and more it sounds like
More and more it sounds like all BM wants is control- not engaging with the people picking up your kid and/or not giving your kid a hug goodbye? Do you think she was pissed to see that SS was actually happy going off with your parents?
All BM wants is control -
All BM wants is control - that has been her whole focus in all of this. My Dad said that BM didn't seem mad or anything, more or less just socially awkward. DH confirmed that BM is the less social of the two, which I knew, but I just find it odd. You don't at the very least exchange pleasantries for the sake of being polite? I mean BM won't even look at DH at pickup, let alone exchange pleasantries, but like DH said, he won't exchange pleasantries with her either, so that one is probably caused by both of them.
I wonder if deep down she
I wonder if deep down she knows what a shitbag she has been and is embarrassed? She can at least be a semi engaged human...
People like this BM don't see
People like this BM don't see what they truly are IMO. They see nothing wrong with what they are doing. It's about them and no one else.
I agree with this. I don't
I agree with this. I don't think BM even thinks about her own behavior. She is a narcissist so she is always right and her behavior is always acceptable. It's on everyone else to change for her.
Absolutely. In our case BM
Absolutely. In our case BM has the mentality of a 15 year old entitled teen. Still thinks nothing she's done is "wrong" It's everyone else's fault or she feels entitled. They don't see it.
MissK our BM sounds similar
MissK our BM sounds similar to yours... the language she uses is that of a toddler...
