Senior graduation
So here we are, on the eve of SS’s senior graduation. He has been a delightful child, shortly becoming a man. Decided to throw him a bash in honor of his accomplishment, jointly with his best friend.
His best friend’s mom has no real relationship with his dad, My DH and I have no relationship with SS’s mom. Both boys feel the other parents should be invited. The other parents contribute nothing but drama, the real mom and (my) real dad agree they would only detract from the celebration.
What would (did) you do in this situation?

Lice
Unbelievable.
Mother of the year strikes again.
SD has had lice four times this year, today being the fourth. She is 13 years old. She lives with DH and I half time. None of the rest of us have gotten it, with the exception of my daughter (one time, the first time SD brought it in the house).
This is ridiculous.
BM takes no responsibility for the treatments, so DH has to take SD in to the nit removal place (costs 225 each time), only to have the kid return to the house after being with BM with lice AGAIN.

Goose egg!
Today was the court date.
The judge was not impressed with her filing a contempt motion for this type of incident. Contempt is serious business. Sending a 17 year old to visit BM’s brother to do charity work on Thanksgiving, more of an issue of poor parental communication.
Motion dismissed.
What did she get?
Three extra days of her choice with the 17 year old, with 30 day notice to DH, to be claimed before he graduates from high school in June.
No court costs, no other orders.

No good deed goes unpunished
Does it ever end?
I will probably be flogged by some of you for the following tale, just like the SO will be flogged in court, but here goes--SS (17 years old) is an amazing kid who has acted as a rock for his sister (12 yrs) during the separation and divorce of his parents. BM plays the ultimate victim (though she is the one who left the marriage to seek comfort in the arms of another), and is so busy enjoying her new found freedom, she over-relies on SS to parent his sister.

Senior Grad Night theme question
Here's a good one I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on.
BM has volunteered to chair our high school grad night--its an all night event at the end of the school year for seniors to have fun in a safe and sober environment to celebrate graduation--this ought to be hilarious (except for the part where the kids may lose out due to her grandiose plans going up in flames because of lack of follow through).

How to tow the hardline with BM without hurting the SK's?
Now that BM's pockets are full of cash, she is off and running spending it like a drunken sailor (which is no concern of mine really).
Her latest stunt--she flew to Nashville for a friend's wedding on Friday. Last night, SD mentions at around 5:00 pm that her mom isn't going to be back from her trip until late tonight (Monday) and so she and SS will be staying over at DH & my house.
10,000 pounds of garbage and a maid squad later...
Well it's finally done!
DH's house has been sold, all community debts in his MSA paid out from the sale of the house. The NastyEx (who portrays herself as the victim in the divorce, in spite of her numerous infidelities and telling him to take a hike) literally did not lift a finger to remove any of her garbage--10,000 lbs to be exact (literally--each trailer to the dump was weighed).

Out of sight out of mind
Miracle of miracles, BM found a house to rent and the sale of her and DH's place is moving toward reality. Problem is, she completely trashed the place (pretty much picked out the things she wanted and left everything else a huge mess). We are talking cabinets and closets full of stuff, trash on the floor, dishes in the sink.

One victory and one question
Well I can't believe it actually happened, but Hagatha actually found a place to live and signed off on the papers to sell the house. I haven't seen DH smile so widely since the divorce settlement was finalized.
Even better--she moved ten miles away, not too far for his kids to commute, but definitely less convenient for the "dropping in at all hours" thing.
WOOOOOT!

BM stepping up the drama
Ugh, the joys of living in a small community.
My daughter is entering the same high school as DH's son, who is a senior this year. BM has pretty much burned her volunteer bridges through-out her kid's school careers, while I have served as PTA president, carnival coordinator, etc ad nauseam in the same school system since mine started kindergarten.
