The skids got NUTTIN for Christmas...

DH had NOTHING up his sleeve (I check carefully for stray dryer sheets) and did not buy the skids so much as a breath mint for Christmas.

He did, however, buy me a new, SPECTACULAR wedding band with 20, yes TWENTY, diamonds in it. You could have knocked me over with a feather. I opened the box and my mouth was hanging open for a solid minute.

DH: Baby, don't you like it??
Me: YES!! It's so beautiful and I'm so surprised!!

Then I burst into tears.

DH (as he's hugging me and rubbing my back): You do so much for me and take such good care of me. I wanted to get you something special. You deserve it.

Which made me cry even harder.

Oh, BTW. The SDs were sooooooooooooooooooooooooo nicey-nice. I wanted to barf. Tough gazongas, beeyotches. Next time, at least try to be POLITE. }:)

WTF, I didn't expect ANYTHING. I had no idea he'd been saving to buy my a ring. And NOTHING for the skids. :jawdrop: !!!!

Your Christmas gift sounds wonderful. I love that he surprised you. That makes it more special. His words to you that you deserve it must have melted your heart. No nice!

Moving, about no gifts or my ring? DH gave me the ring before the skids arrived, so they had no idea. SD24's kids (DH's step-grandkids) got gifts and I cooked a nice meal. They actually had the manners to NOT beeyotch.

About the lack of presents. I feel like there is going to be some kind of backlash. Oh well!

Nothing said about no presents and I was shocked. Plus, the SDs were SUPER nice to me. Part of me wonders if DH said something to them. Then again, maybe they were nice because they thought DH was holding out...

That's DH's problem. }:)

In the past, when DH could not buy gifts, I bought SMALL things: some favorite candy, lip balm, fuzzy socks... The SDs have been absolute twunts and they're dead to me. I don't buy gifts for dead people.

Hereiam, I buy flowers for my Mother's grave (and other family members). That's a whole lot more than I'd do for the twunts!
