ungrateful??
We are taking the SKIDS to Mecico in July. We told them today and SD 15 said, "can we go see aunty N at spring break?" I find this to ve ungateful, we spent 6k on this trip and she is asking for more already. This was within 2 minutes of being told.

One word = NO!
That is when the greedy
That is when the greedy entitled SKid gets the immediate publicly humiliating ass baring in front of everyone present then sent to stand in a remote corner holding the intersecting walls together with their nose and contemplate their idiocy until everyone else gets tired. Then when their legs are shaking and their nose is raw they get told. No! We will not being going to Aunt's for spring break. In fact, YOU will be replanting all of the grass in the yard over your spring break. One blade at a time with a toothpick.
Grrr. This kid pisses me off.
I'm sorry but in what world
I'm sorry but in what world is it considered rude to ask to see a relative? Asking once is fine in my opinion. If she kept asking I would see that as being rude. Why would you discipline a kid for asking a simple question? What does visiting the aunt have to do with being ungrateful for an unrelated trip??
Giving the benefit of the doubt
I'm guessing a 15 year old doesn't grasp the major cost of your trip and associated traveling and visiting. Now that I re-read your post, I see she's asking about a separate, earlier trip. Just say no and forget about it.
Sometimes
People look for things to be upset about. I think that may be the case here. She is 15! This is typical teenager behavior skid or not. Say no and move on.
I don't consider asking to
I don't consider asking to visit a relative as meaning a person is ungrateful it rude (in this case for a separate trip.)
Having said that, if she's constantly asking for the same thing over and over after being told no, then that is rude.
For example my step daughter kept asking for a puppy that her mom's boyfriend was selling.
We said no the first time. Then she kept asking over and over still.
The original request wasn't rude. It was a question. But when she kept persisting and asking then it became rude.
