Yesterday my parents invited me over for dinner. My DS10 was already there, since they watched him for me yesterday while DH and I were at work. I was going to go straight from work to my parents house, but I did ask SS15 first if he wanted to go with me and I would pick him up, of course he said, "no." I told DH to tell him that since he declined dinner then he was on his own that night, I wasn't going to come home and cook after my parents already were cooking and he was more than welcome to come.

Last night DH worked until 11, so after dinner when DS10 and I left my parents house it was about 7 and neither of us wanted to go home to SS15. DS10 is tired of being picked on by SS15. So we went miniature golfing together...then went to a place for dessert...then did some shopping and finally went home.

We get home and the house smells weird, kind of like burnt popcorn, but not quite. SS15 comes down and says he burnt the macaroni and cheese he tried to make. I was a little confused at first at why it would smell like that and how he could burn mac and cheese....well not only did he burn mac and cheese, but he burned EASY MAC...you know the kind you add water and just pop in the microwave that my 10-year-old has been making himself for years now. He says to me the package said put in the microwave 3 minutes and it was burning after 1 minute, I look at the burned container on the counter, the idiot DIDN'T PUT WATER IN THE CUP!!!! How can a 15-year-old mess up EASY MAC???? Doesn't he know you need WATER to cook macaroni???? SMH.

Then DS10 goes to lay down in his room and SS15 tells him to get out because he was playing some game on X-BOX (they have to share a bedroom), that DS10 isn't allowed to watch. So I had to intervine and tell SS15 to turn it off, he was home ALL DAY by himself and should have had enough time to play his video games, so I said they both had to decide on a movie to watch together before bed. SS15 kept teasing DS10 and trying to put on scary movies that DS10 hates. Finally DH got home and was able to take care of his monster. And that is why I stay away as long as possible when SS15 is home and DH is gone!!!
