If my husband signs papers from visitation to joint custody will he still have to pay
Her child support? My SS. Lives out of state. And now is moving back to mn with us,
She told my husband that she want to file joint custody so her family can see him
With out a fight in the summer. My lawyer told me when I got divorced (10) years ago
That if I signed joint custody I could end up paying my EX child support if I made more
Money then him. There's no way she can see him every other weekend when they live
1400 miles away..... Help ,help we spent 10 years paying, I can't spend anymore,

i don't know how it works in your state but in CA my husband and i have custody of my two SS. We do not pay any alimony or child support but we are not allowed to ask her for any $$ unless for medical expense and then she only has to pay half. My husband make a lot more money then his ex and we don't pay. if she wants him to live with you and still see him i would have to assume if she wants to see him it would have to be on her dime since she wants him to have custody. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, i hope you don't have to pay!!!

It can happen, There is another person on here who had it happen to her. I would sign something that give him custody with a clause for what visitation she wants. This will make her have to pay you instead if the courts state so. Even if he has full custody he may still have to pay.

Thanks, yes, we found info on the web sight that says exactly what I was wondering, even if they have 50/50 the parent with the higher income still pays child support, What a bitch, good thing we caught it before my husband signed anything,
