CAPTCHA?

Is it just me? Why is it sometimes I have to enter a CAPTCHA & other times I don't? I would understand all the spam coming through if the CAPTCHA wasn't there at all, but it seems to flowing through heavier than ever.

I can ignore it, but if that's the case, why is the CAPTCHA there at all?

It happens to me from time to time as well, not sure why, I am always logged in as well.
