O/T In-law and Holiday rant
I love my in-laws. We're very close, sometimes I wish they were MY parents. But I'm a little irritated with my MIL right now. She decided that this Thanksgiving that we would travel 2.5 hrs away to the mountains, stay in a hotel and eat out for Thanksgiving dinner, then cut our own Xmas trees. I had to work this evening, and I have to work Friday evening.
I have 5 month old twins that are possibly teething, as they have been unusually fussy the past few nights. So I'm not really thrilled about traveling with them then taking them to a restaurant. My in-laws took them and my SD12 and SD13, I'm sure they're regretting their decision now! I'm traveling in the truck with DH and SS17, whose knees are in my back. I hate driving with DH for 15 minutes, so driving nearly 3 hours through the mountains is going to shatter my nerves.
They paid for our room, but we have to share it with the babies (of course) and stinky SS17. What is it about teenage boys that make them smell so bad? And not to sound entitled or anything, but my inlaws could totally afford to spring for another room for the skids.
I know a lot of you have much more drama to deal with than I do, so I should be thankful that I don't have to deal with BMs crap (who didn't call SS for his bday today, but she hasn't called since Aug so why start now?) And the skids are manageable. This is just more stress than I want to deal with.
