UPDATE: Sensory Seeking Toe Walking
We haven't heard from BM since her last email "confirming" that per the OTs, SS is toe walking due to "sensory seeking" related to his "ADHD". She also indicated that SS' leg muscles/tendons were tight due to the toe walking. DH asked BM if PT was involved and if the tightness put SS at risk for sports related injury. BM responded, never actually acknowledging or answering DH's question, but basically calling him an idiot because in the first email, BM stated that the OTs are encouraging sports due to the "sensory seeking." Well... sensory seeking was not our question, muscle/tendon tightness was. DH didn't engage her further because what is the point?
Tonight, DH facetimes with SS (who is almost 10). DH asked SS how the OT evaluation went and what he did during the first OT session. SS said he literally sat on the floor and stretched for an hour. He said it was like yoga... BM had said in her original email that the OTs were working on high-stimuli sensory activities to provide SS with the much needed additional stimulation... yeah bullshit. SS then went on to say that he hates OT because it's super boring and that BM told SS the only reason he is going to OT is because of the leg tightness and that they are concerned he could tear a tendon... Hmm thought that wasn't a concern... So clearly, not an ADHD or sensory seeking issue. It is probably a sports related issue or a growth spurt issue, like I had initially said, which is likely why BM got so defensive when DH was questioning the leg tightness. SS knows that I have a mild form of cerebral palsy and that I have been through the toe-walking, the therapies, the tendon lengthening surgeries, the wearing leg braces, etc. I told him to keep stretching and hopefully as he grows, it will correct itself. SS agreed. At this point, DH and I are just taking a "wait and see" approach but like come on BM.

HCBM's always get super
HCBM's always get super defensive when they are caught in a lie.
BM clearly didn't realize that your DH may know
the right questions to ask and just figured she could bullshit her way through this new issue without anything possibly contradicting her story. If I remember correctly BM is very intelligent academically, but seems she has gotten cocky about that so she thinks she can outsmart your DH and get away with whatever bs she is trying to feed you.
Yes, BM is genius
Yes, BM is genius academically but has zero street smarts or common sense. I think BM also doesn't expect SS to actually talk to us about things and doesn't expect DH to seek the information, making her word the only truth. We aren't doing anything about this situation, I just found it interesting. I feel like BM is seeking attention or she plans to try to use this to limit summer visitation. Either way, we aren't taking the bait.
I agree I think that is
what she expects from both your SS and your DH. I agree, do not take the bait! It is good however to let BM know like your DH did by asking questions, etc. that when something is suspscious, your DH isn't going to just believe her without finding out any information on his own.
You know.. I saw a tik tok
You know.. I saw a tik tok the other day showing some things that they had a child do to help train them not to toe walk. one of the more interesting ones was having them wear some swim flippers (the ones they had were not super long).. but you know when you wear those.. you HAVE to step heel first.. maybe get some and make the kid walk in them..haha.
