OT - Favorite Mug
So my most recent favorite mug has disappeared. I know it's crazy but I am someone who has a fave mug for tea. The right amount of water and tea brew and a little milk. And the size means I don't have to get up and brew another cup for a while.
DH broke my favorite ever mug after we moved in to this house. That was bad. Then SD14, then 12, disappeared my next mug (I think she threw it away instead of washing it as I think it was full of mold). Today I cannot find the third mug. DH doesn't know where it is. I know SD12 didn't use it. I suspect he broke it and doesn't want to tell me.
So I'm going to order a mug with my name on it. Is it too much to ask that I have ONE mug no one else uses?
....oh, and no more grocery list on fridge. I got the milk out and it's almost empty (I use it for tea once a week only). We just went to the store yesterday. I complained that no one wrote it on the list (only DH and SD12 use it regularly). Then DH says, "You use that list too strictly." WTF? It's normal. I do the grocery organization and shopping. I looked at him, said, "Ok, no more list then." So I'll just go from memory and not remember everything (keep a side list for myself).

In this spirit
I kept a few things today that I would rather have thrown out of SS18's when I spent a few hours cleaning his old room today, and only kept'em after my conscience let me know I shouldn't throw away anthing that might be special to SS because I wouldn't like that done to me ("Do unto others as you would have them do to you" is the Golden Rule).

I have one of those mugs! I sits on the very top shelf. NO ONE USES MY TEA MUG. I have a dozen coffee mugs that eveyone can share. But my tea mug... it is the balance and weight of it in my hand. It is the perfect size... and I would swear that it keeps my tea warmer than the other mugs.
Totally understand and I agree that ordering yourself a special mug with your name is a perfect answer! I hope that it holds up to the others!

If I had a nickel for every time my favorite mug ended up missing and later located in BabyVoice's room, I would be the wealthiest person on the planet. WHY is it so hard to leave stuff that doesn't belong to you alone, BV???
My favorite mug even HAS MY NAME ON IT!!!
In other news, I keep a grocery list on the fridge. BV was complaining this morning that we were out of milk.
me - is the carton still in the fridge?
BV - yes
me - did you write "milk" on the grocery list?
BV - no
me - Then how was I supposed to know we needed it? Let me tell how it works around here, if I see something in the fridge or the pantry, I assume there is milk/cereal/whatever in it and I don't buy more.
BV - oh.
At this very moment, Thing1 walked in the kitchen - he has a surgical consultation this afternoon with his hip surgeon, looks like he will need surgery on his other hip - and says "yeah, she's not kidding. Make it easy on yourself and just toss the empty thing and write it on the list. Trust me, kiddo."
I LOVE Thing1 :-)
I also understand the
I also understand the favorite mug thing!
I have a coffee mug for the week and one for weekends and holidays. Plus a favorite mug for tea.
I'm sure your DH will get over himself, hang in there!
