Prince SS
Forums:
So the vile little Prince turned up his nose at the beef stew his father prepared for hours yesterday.
I said, "Well, this is what's for dinner, so I guess you're going to be hungry."
He sat at the table with his serving and proceeded to *gag* as he spooned the stew into his mouth.
My husband's denial is SO DEEP that he didn't even notice!
As we all finished, he said, "Wow, everyone ate really well."
I said, "Are you kidding??? Did you not see SS gagging???"
And, bless his heart, my OTHER SS spoke up, "I saw it. It was nasty."
I can't tell you how happy this made me. Finally an ally and it wasn't one of my bios.
It doesn't fix anything, but at least he heard someone else acknowledge the Prince's appalling behavior.

Well, SS did eat it. He just made a scene out of doing so.
Next time he starts the gagging crap, take his serving to the kitchen counter or table and let him gag himself all he pleases. Just remove him from the dining table. Others don't want to see his agonizing drama scene. Tends to spoil other's enjoyment from the meal. FWIW, DH didn't miss the show, he chose to ignore it. As long as Dad let's him get away with it (pitting you against husband in front of the brat), the kid will continue to ramp it up.

Long ago the SKids used to do this, and I look back with regret that I didn't promptly take their dish, dump it in the trash, and tell them to sit there in silence while the rest of us enjoyed our meal without the rude dramatics. It would have saved me many a meal of heartache.
