Oh hell.

Everyone say a prayer...for my poor little Beemer.

Insurance company us allowing a rental car for the totalled Beetle only of course you have to be over 25 to drive it. That means sd19 can't.

The mom mobile is being used by the younger teens to drive back and forth to extra-c's

DH's car is a stick and she has no idea how to drive one.

So, either I drive the rental and she drives the Beemer or I am stuck driving this skid to work and classes which I can't do because I do need to work.

Gulp.

Thats the plan for the weekend! Saturday she and DH are going to have LOTS of one on one time learning how to grind I mean shift gears.

But she has classes three days this week and is working four shifts this week. So until DH/I have the chance (Saturday) to teach her... the Beemer needs prayers.

Drunk driver. Sad

Was totally not the kids fault. And the shoelace express isn't an option for two reasons.

1) College is 15 miles away. Nearest bus route to our house is five miles away and your literally walking through swamp (in Florida, so factor in gators) with no side walks.

2) Buses stop running at 930pm. Her classes get out at 10pm.

It is easy to be nice to a kid that treats you with respect. Which is something sd19 has learned how to do.

Also very easy to WANT to help a kid who is trying to make something of herself. She is holding a B average in her classes so far. She is working part time, she helps out around the house. She thought about moving out, then realized how much rent cost for a small apartment. She decided doing chores and helping out was a much better fiscal option.

Now, if she were still acting now as she was 18 months ago? Pfft.

Ummm, no way in hell would skid be driving my BMW. Can you pay extra for for SD to drive the rental?

Nope. I tried. Rental car company WILL NOT allow a driver under 21 for any reason.

You could try Budget or Dollar too - I forget which one - they also allow younger drivers.

The Beemer is safe!

EZ rented her a beetle LOL! It is not a 'preferred rental company' so I pay for the car up front and send the bill to the insurance company and they reimburse me. Picking the rental bug up at 5!!
