Custody change negotiations .. so it begins!
Because BM is moving about 50 miles away from DH (over an hour each way in traffic), DH has proposed the following modification to their custody agreement:
DH would get skids Friday, Saturday, Sunday for 2 weekends, then BM for 1. This 3 week rotation, (with exceptions for holiday weekends and other school breaks) gives DH and BM both plenty of weekend time and keeps the total days per parent the same as it is now over the course of a year. It also eliminates splitting weekends based on DH's days off from work. Under the existing agreement, BM never gets a FULL weekend during the school year.
Her response was to give him every Friday and Saturday (regardless of work schedules) so the skids would be home Sunday evening for school.
We think she intended to keep the same 2/1 weekend rotation, but didn't specify that in her email. If that is her intention, I guess she just assumes DH will give up 2 days every 3 weeks. :?
She even mentioned in her email "this also stays with in the 128 overnights requirement" .. this 128 overnights "requirement" is just what our state considers the minimum for joint custody. It's not outlined, specified, or agreed to in the custody agreement.
It's pretty clear that she's concerned about child support. She loses all but $30 of it anyway just based on her increased salary starting in June. The only way to counteract that decrease is to decrease DH's days.
The other funny part .. she said she was consulting with her attorney to review his proposal, and then proceeded to give this counteroffer. Why in the world would you counteroffer if you clearly haven't talked to your attorney yet? Lol .. bluffer
