Update: Finders Keepers...
So I told DH about finding the iPod Touch Friday night. He was in total agreement with me. SS11 asked me if I had seen his iPod Saturday morning. I said yes and told him that he needed to keep better track of his things. Then I gave it back to him.
DH laid into SS11 and told him the responsible thing to do when he forgets his iPod in the car is to call us and tell us where it is so we can put it in a safe place.
Oh and BM just bought SS11 a cell phone so know he's got yet another thing to keep track of.

Thanks.
Thanks.
I knew DH would agree. DH
I knew DH would agree.
DH complains he's not observant and never looks in the back seat so he doesn't know when the boys leave valuables there. A few times I've noticed their stuff in plain view when we were out and about running errands - it irritates DH as much as it bothers me.

I agree. Life is all about
I agree. Life is all about lessons learned. If he doesn't learn now at age 11 to take responsibility for things, he'll have a real hard time later in life.
I'm glad your DH agreed!
I'm glad your DH agreed! Sometimes all it takes is a simple lesson for kids to get the point.
Sometimes.
SS13 has lost 3 cell phones in the past year (all purchased by BM). She just keeps replacing them, so he isn't learning a thing. He asked DH and I for an IPod Touch for Christmas. No way!
