Finally I am pregnant but this morning the "morning" sickness hit... I hope to all the angels that it is truly morning sickness... not so much! Advice? What can I do to feel semi normal?
lol thanks I didn't smell or eat anything though just hopped out of bed dry heaved and felt sick for the rest of the day maybe I smelt something... see what happens tomorrow I thought I was in the clear! Thanks for the help! I also am gluten free.... would love some saltines! Oh I would die for some chicken broth and saltines.
Protein helped me - ritz bits with peanut butter, tho the gluten thing throws a wrench in the works there. So shakes, yogurt, cheese sticks, whatever you can put peanut butter on, trail mix.... I got told to keep something next to the bed and eat as soon as I woke up. And don't let yourself get hungry. Eat something small Often. Forgetting normal meals and taking up grazing all day helped some.
I was a bad case, didn't feel better til the start of the third trimester. On the up side, if it stays bad or gets worse, call your doc!!! There are med they can give you - zofran or phenergan that really help with nauseau and are safe.
Otherwise, keep your stress down and make sure you sleep enough. The more tired I was, the worse it got. And anytime I got stressed about anything, I was instantly heaving.
Totally makes sense now I got almost zero sleep the night before this morning... Thank you! I feel like such an idiot like a 5 year old learning about life again. First pregnancy has really thrown me for a loop. I guess at week 6 with no pukey feeling I felt confident it wouldn't happen... think again. Just had a shake and it was pretty amazing, not going to lie ;).
I actually read this as well... baby is still "sticking" if I thought it was bad before now I just feel nausea all the time... Eating little bits all the time seems to help but eating even gets to me now. I am almost frustrated with the fact that I never throw up. Now I wish I would to get that 5 minutes of relief after! Ug thank you for the tips ladies
I was horribly, horribly sick for both of my pregnancies. Tell your OB/GYN. There are actually several medications they can give you, and some are sub-lingual, so if you normally get sick before a pill has time to dissolve in your stomach, you'll still get the medication into your blood stream.
Unfortunately for me, *nothing* worked, but I was an abnormally bad case. Most people have a better reaction.
Sigh I don't even have one yet... this town I live in is horrible. First I have to get a positive preg test via dr office. I find this out and make an appointment, alas the dr office doesn't do the preg tests. I have to go to the lab which closes at the same time as my work. Hopefully I can get in sometime next week. After I get a positive then I can see my family dr. who refers me to the prenatal clinic in town but not before 21 weeks... what a gong show!!
