Ok so I am a newly married step-parent. I have been in my babygirls life since she was 1 1/2 yrs old. She is now 5. My husband and I have no intentions of starting a family anytime soon so she is our #1 (and only)!

We currently live 4hrs away from her. He recently obtained a position with more flexibility and I work for the state so I'm flexible as well. We really want to move closer to her but is this something we should talk to her mother about? Or just make the move? I don't want her to take anything the wrong way if we don't discuss it with her first. Also I want to know her plans before we pick up and relocate to be closer to her. What do you all think? Has anyone experienced anything like this?
